Formula feeding

Does anyone’s 12 day old baby take 4oz of formula, I’ve done the silly thing of googling and it says babies this young should be having no more than 3oz, although it just isn’t satisfying him.

He was born 7ib 4oz, he dropped to 6ib 6oz whilst I was trying to breast feed for 5 days, after we switched to bottle he’s now 7ib 8oz

My little one is 17 days, born 5lbs 10oz. He has been on 4oz for about 8 days now. I say if your little one is hungry & he is holding it down he is absolutely fine with having 4oz :)

From 16 days old my little girl was on 5oz every 3 hours, she was 9lb 14oz born. I was told I was overfeeding her but I ignored everyone, they aren’t the ones who have to listen to your little one scream in hunger 🤷🏼‍♀️
Sounds like you’re doing a great job responding to his feeding needs and he’s gaining weight well x

When I spoke to my health visitor about the same thing, she said they'll take what they need and if it's too much they'll just sick it up. I was worried I was overfeeding as we read the same, but this made me feel better. My little boy is 1month now and does 5oz sometimes 6

My little boy is 16 days old and 4oz is his minimum, I’m sure he’s got hollow legs 🤣
I had the same issues with breastfeeding and he dropped a lot of weight so I feel like this is just him catching up. I’ve asked the midwife and health visitor and they were both happy and told me to listen to baby and what he wants 😊

My son @ 2 weeks ild was drinking a 250ml borrle ormula every 3 hrs (passed away to SIDS 07/08/2003)

Forget what Google says, one size does not fit all. Babies are all so different and you also shouldn’t go off age, you go off weight. A 2 week old 7 pounder is going to drink way less than a 2 week old 11 pounder.
My baby was technically drinking too much and yet would scream in hunger if he had the reccomened’ amount. Do what works for your baby xx

Mine is ten days she takes 4oz I went for ten day checkup today and brought it up as was worried it might be to much she told me between 3-4 oz is fine if she is drinking it then let her.

My baby is 8 days old, and she’s between 3oz and 4oz. Although, I think she could drink more cuz she’s greedy🤣🤣 x

Just let him have whatever he takes. My baby took 3.5 oz around that time. Growth spurt. There is no overfeeding a baby. If you feed them too frequently they can have spit ups more so you do more laundry. That is about it.

My daughter is 2 weeks old and sometimes she will take 4oz and sometimes she will take 3oz.

When I just breastfed, she dropped from 5lb 2oz to 4lb 4oz, so now I mix.

I would just offer 4oz or more if your baby needs it. I would listen to your son x

If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

I feel like just a milk cow

Hi I have a 16 day old via c section, I'm a FTM never having been around babies before as I am the youngest of my household and from a small family. My husband is fantastic with our little one. But ever since I've had the baby I just feel like the only thing I'm good for is producing milk. I feel disconnected from my husband like the only reason he's around is because am producing milk. We were having some issues before the baby and we're struggling it took a while to feel like he was onboard even though he said he was from the moment we found out. I dunno if I'm feeling like a spear part because I'm lacking confidence with baby or because I feel like he wouldn't mind being a single dad. Is this postpartum hormones or something else?

How long did it take for your child’s circumcision to heal and you could give him a bath?

I’ve just been wiping him down with a fiber wash cloth but I just wanted to know from others experience on how long it took

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....
