Twin position and will it change?

I had my 16 week scan yesterday for my didi twins and they are in a ‘bunk bed’ position (see pic). My dr said that they will move in their sacs but it will be very unlikely that they move to being vertically side by side even by 32+ weeks so it’s 90% sure I’ll need a c-section.

I’ll choose the birthing option that’s safest of course, but would have preferred to try a vaginal birth to not be recovering from a c-section AND getting used to caring for my babies.

Anyone else’s twins in this position early on and then they moved from transverse to both head down (or even just twin A head down)?

UPDATE: at my 20 week scan they were both head down, so they can definitely change position and there is hope 🙌🏾🤞🏾

Hello yes mine were in this position and they didn’t really change much
My boy (twin b) was laid transverse until the end. My girl moved head down a week before then changed into a breach position a day or two before my c-section. 🤦🏻‍♀️
They were both pulled out of me in a breach position.
I remember towards the end it was quite uncomfortable as twin B was very high up and his head felt like it was sticking into one side of my ribs and legs at the other side 😅

I wanted a c-section for this reason and my mum had twins she had the exact same problem. She ended up giving birth naturally to twin a but then twin b was an emergency c-section.

C-section for me personally went very well and recovery was totally fine . I honestly felt no pain as I didn’t go into labour. I had my c-section booked at 37 weeks to the day and it went so smoothly :)
Hope everything goes well for you! Xx

To be honest, Im not sure.
But with my pregnancy, twin A was breech and twin B transverse with their heads right next to each other. Kind of in a 7/T shape. With all the ultrasounds and doctor’s appointments we had (OB, MFM, and at the end nonstress tests) there was literally ONE time where they both had flipped. But they never changed out of the T/7 positions. I like to think they were aware of each other and wanted to snuggle because their heads remained right next to each other the whole pregnancy. They were just snuggling. Twin A even had his arm around twin B (even though they were in separate sacs) at one ultrasound. Long story short, I had a scheduled C-section. If they don’t change positions for you, I would just do a C-section because it’s better to only recover from one deliver option instead of both. Adjusting to taking care of them while recovering wasn’t too bad, but I had help. If you do get a C-section, try to have someone to help you for the first week or two at least

Yes kind were like this like a bunk bed and then later on changed onto other positions. I was offered vaginal birth then but went for c section coz it was safe.

Twin A was head down ready rock, twin B told me to us to shove it he wasn’t going anywhere and stayed on his bunk bed

Ended up with a c-section at 39 weeks and a day. He just wouldn’t move. It took time to heal, of course. Slept on an incline and needed help around the house for a few days but then your body adjusts. 💜

Mine were in this position I’m sure at 20 weeks and now they are kind off side by side at 33 weeks and both head down x

I had this same situation with my girls they flipped once then my babygirl was breeched again and I got a c section bc I didn’t want to cause any problems with her or me later on . I know it sucks I never wanted surgery ever but whichever direction you go , you’re gonna be fine mama ! 🫶🏾

THANK YOU so so much everyone!

Each of you had a different experience and I’m glad to see that for those that had a c-section it was actually ok, so I am less scared and hopeful that mine will also be smooth ✨💚

There is hope however small that they may rearrange themselves but I’m going to work on my surgery fears and plan for the best c-section as that seems more likely!

I didn’t know this was even possible omg 😵‍💫 new fear unlocked. And it’s CRAZY that they could stay the same way until birth I thought babies toss and turn more than that 😳

I’m learning something new every week and my mind is like 🫣 too! 😅
I think they can toss and turn but it depends in space and also how the other twin moves too… so many variations and possibilities…

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
