I am 31 weeks and have a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks because she’s breech and to minimize damage to her back. The only reason it’s two weeks earlier is because it’s twins, my pediatric neurosurgeon said that the bigger and closer to term babies with SB are the easier their recovery. Ask your doc, but I imagine it’s quite possible to go to term if everything else looks good.

Hey sorry to hear that they told me they might think about induce me because am due on the 23 of December and no doctors be around on Christmas and they need do the surgery next day but I don’t know ❤️

I think it’s really important to have the back closure surgery the next day, at least if it’s an open spina bifida, so making sure the doctor is around is a good idea. My docs are not worried about my babies arriving two weeks early, and full term technically starts at 39 weeks. So maybe ask for someday the week of December 10 if they want to induce you early. I’m in a big SB parent group on Facebook and it seems very common to be scheduled instead of going into labor naturally.

It’s called Spina Bifida: A parenting support group. They’ll need to approve your request to join but it’s quick, there’s a lot of supportive parents in there 😊 If you need anything you can message me here or on FB, our babies are due so close together!

When u due x

That’s the one!

I’m due December 26th, but my c-section is the 13th. So sounds like our babes will arrive maybe a week or less apart

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
