I am seriously struggling too get my boobs to produce anything I've tried contacting my midwife to get advice as I'm just getting nothing I've tried downloading guides but nothing so want to make sure I'm doing it correctly but yet again I can't get hold of her for advice.
Does anyone know the best way to do this?

A warm bath or shower before hand and massage around the nipple, watching YouTube videos will help, it does require patience. However, some women do struggle collecting it, your colostrum will be there when baby is born anyway so don’t panic if you can’t get anything they will still get it from your boob at birth

Sometimes women are unable... I am unable, I've checked my technique, and it's right, but I have had nothing from week 36 to now at 38+5

I got nothing with my first baby and nothing this time, don't let it stress you out it's a relatively new thing baby will be fed regardless of if you get any colostrum before baby's born x

I agree with all of the above in that not everybody can get it and that's no reflection on your ability to breastfeed once baby is here so try not to put pressure on yourself. But just a few tips that helped me.. Firstly perseverance. It took me a good few attempts to get anything worth putting in a syringe! Secondly I do a 5 min massage before starting, then a 20-30 second massage between each squeeze and alternate boobs with each squeeze. Sounds quite laborious but it definitely helped the amount I got compared to focusing on one boob at a time. X

Thank you ladies, I think I need to like you say take the pressure off as its just not happening I know this is a really stupid question but will the milk automatically start flowing if baby tries to feed after birth sorry midwife is not explaining anything to me and baby due in two weeks x

It may take a few days for your milk to come in but it will yes after baby is born x

I’ve not found it easy. I’ve only managed to half fill 2 syringes (so 1ml total) over 10 days.
I’m finding that I can only get a bead to form if I hold my breast with one hand whilst the other squeezes around the nipple. Then trying to grab a spoon to catch the drop loses the momentum.
I’ve been trying for a couple of hours at a time.

I know, but I tend to keep going until the beads fully stop. They’re very slow, but they do keep appearing during that time.
In 10 minutes I barely get a glisten.
