I see these videos in instagram of 9 month olds eating 3 course meals 3 times a day.
My LO ate 3 little pancakes for breakfast today. Probably equates to about half an egg, half a banana and a little flour milk and butter. Is that enough for a meal? That’s pretty much how much he eats for an average meal, but if I offer his favourite food (avocado) he’ll never stop eating lol

My boy is also 9 months he’s eating 3 times a day but not 3 courses. He just has oatmeal mixed milk in the morning, for lunch a veggie and some chicken with tomato sauce for dinner usually a veggie and some banana or fruit and yogurt, sometimes all he wants is puffs or purée. Before 1 it’s not a huge deal, formula or breast milk should be the priority

Mine eats somewhat similar quantity and I guess it all depends upon a baby. By the time they are gaining appropriate weight I guess it’s all good.

I see those videos too and they definitely give me some mom guilt. I cook the same pancakes and then I add a few berries on the side. I save them for the end because if he starts on strawberries or blackberries then he won’t eat anything else 😅 I think there are ways to get a bunch of different veggies into a simple make-ahead dish though. Solid Starts has a recipe for egg cups with shredded zucchini and carrots that look good! But to answer you’re question, my 9 month old gets two, maybe three meals of solids per day

Our son does pretty well. We struggle with breakfast though. He will generally eat one tiny pancake. Which equals basically nothing lol but if it’s oatmeal he will have a little more. He has cheese and crackers for a snack. Lunch and dinner he has really thick purée with is equals parts veg, meat and starch. Then a second snack of Greek yogurt and berry compote.
We’ve started to drop a couple of day bottles to try and encourage solids. It has definitely helped. He still gets at least 450mls of milk a day. But mainly at breakfast and bedtime

@Karishma what tomato sauce do you use I haven't tried this yet?

Every baby is different. I usually give solids 1-2 times a day. Some days she has a couple bites and is done and some days she eats so much I wonder where she is putting it all.

Sometimes I do canned tomatoes and add my own seasonings or just one with low sugar and sodium- store bought. I’ve also done pasta, lightly toasted bread with cheese ,

Some days he eats a lot others it’s just a few bites

I am for 24oz of breastmilk/formula a day though

I do two Meals a day , he definitely can polish off an Instagram meal but it depends on the day, sometimes he’s less interested
