Lip tie

It’s actually more common than you think. It’s mostly tongue ties that are a concern as can effect feeding/speech.

My daughter has the above and just meant her baby teeth were gappy. But her big teeth are perfect with no gaps. She had no issues caused by the top lip tie. It’s something a dentist can sort out when they’re much older for cosmetic reasons if needed/wanted but mention it to your HV anyway to put your mind at ease x

My boys the same, drs said very common x

I believe there’s very few people in the UK qualified to snip them, my son had one and I do believe it affected his speech but it doesn’t bother him at all and his teeth aren’t bad either. But it really did concern me when I first noticed it

Yeah both of my boys’ looked just like that! But it grows out as their gums develop and the teeth come through no problem at all. Don’t worry x

Yes. My son and daughter. It is very common and usually doesn't cause any issues. I had the hospital and pediatrician verify that all looked good.

Yea both my boys have this. There’s no problems with this type of lip tie, a friend who is an orthodontist says they don’t cut these anymore even if the front teeth come through with a gap.
