Braxton Hicks or Baby?

How can you tell the different between Braxton Hicks contractions and your baby moving to one spot and kind of scrunching up? This weekend I've noticed I will feel a tightness to either side of my belly button, and when I touch it that area is rock hard. It goes away in less than a minute or so every time, and I don't really feel her moving during this, but she might just be staying really still because she's stretching upward or something. I'm 31 weeks and this is my first pregnancy, so I have no frame of reference.

Are they consistent and meet a pattern. Contractions last for a minute and are however many minutes apart exactly. You can time them and keep track !

braxton hicks for me at least usually tightens my whole belly and makes it a little harder for me to breathe. think of it just as your muscles contracting and what youd imagine that to be/feel like

if its just on one side and you notice its when you feel your baby moving then i would guess its your baby. either way neither are harmful obviously so its not too big of a deal to be confusing the two but i understand wanting to understand your body :)

It sounds like a Braxton hicks and that’s just where her bottom or head is sitting so it feels hardest and sticks out in that spot. Feel the rest of your belly. Then compare that to before or after it happens. I get them a decent amount with my twins and it’s so much easier to figure out where they’re at cause they will stick out more. I also get the sensation to pee when it happens and it’s a little uncomfortable for me

I have the exact same thing happen and it is just baby stretching out. I’ve had Braxton hicks and it’s totally different. If it literally feels like they’re about to burst out one side of your stomach it’s your baby doing a full stretch

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
