East surrey :)

East Surrey or Haywards Heath Haywards Heath is classed as out of area as it is a different trust

East surrey is linked to crawley. But I'm going to princess royal in East Grinstead as we are south crawley so its actually slightly shorter journey and near the inlaws x

east surrey x

East Surrey I don’t think Crawley hospital has a proper maternity or delivery ward..

I had my son at Worthing

I can thoroughly recommend The Princess Royal in Haywards Heath! I had all three of mine there!

Ohhh lovely response. Thank you all, I’m still not familiar to this area and I’ve found out I’m expecting second time. Quite nervous as I don’t want too long distance travel. Which was your hospital n how was the experience please ?😅 I gave birth in Chelmsford last time and I miss that hospital very much. But now I’m nervous with new location

Tbh depends which part of crawley you are based in. I'm based in bewbush and my husband has family in Brighton so I picked haywards heath. So far no issues, only downside is being classed 'out of area' and they have different procedure to east Surrey hospital which is linked with crawley. But for personal reasons I chose haywards heath. Also means if haywards heath is full when you go into labour you get referred down to Brighton. If both are full you get referred to east Surrey I believe. I'm currently 37+5 and have had no issues so far If you are based in North crawley and have no preference probably makes sense to go east Surrey I would check out both hospitals online and make a decision Congratulations on your second and I hope it goes well 😊🤞

East Surrey

I'm in pease pottage, and I went to Princess Royal in haywards heath, had a brilliant experience, couldn't fault them

I have chosen Princess royal, haywards heath and its amazing to hear the lovely reviews. Xx

The only thing ive heard is if you choose east surrey then you go to crawley hospital for your antenetal appt and scans. Which is closer x

@Ellie so does that mean birth is in east Surrey but scans n all in Crawley hospital? Where are u getting scans done if we chose princess royal ? I’m from Ifield, lookalike both hospitals are 25-30 mins far

Yes, birth will be east surrey but scans, blood tests etc will be in crawley hosp. Princess royal is different though, all antenatal appt including blood test will be there, lovely hospital if you dont mind driving 25mins to get there.

I gave birth at Princess Royal in Haywards Heath, was an amazing hospital. Originally was with East Surrey but moved after they lost my registration and were quite rude to me about it all.

I had a great experience at east surrey just under a month ago. all my midwife appointments were at my GP, bloods and scans at Crawley and then gave birth at east surrey. It’s a very busy hospital, the postnatal ward is not the best but for me I’m so glad I went there as I honestly had the best midwives and birthing experience xx

@Amy Just out of curiosity, how comes you didn’t think the postnatal ward was the best…? Just trying to prepare my expectations for when I cross that bridge
