Sex after birth.

Before I fell pregnant I had no issues with pain during Sex. Sex was comfortable and pleasurable. Once I was pregnant I felt as if sex was so painful and I just thought I may have had thrush.
Went to A&E when I was 18 weeks pregnant for something unrelated and mentioned to the doctor about painful sex and if it could be to do with something like thrush and he just said it’s due to being pregnant and nothing else.
Anyways, I did a treatment for thrush and attempted to be intimate with my partner again but it was still painful. Close to the end of my pregnancy, I had a sweep and cervix checks and that was extremely painful/uncomfortable and needed numbing gel and gas and air for every check, before pregnancy it never was like this. I’m coming up to 6 weeks pp and me and my partner are looking forward to being intimate again but I’m terrified it’s still going to hurt and I will never be able to have pleasurable sex again. Has this been an issue with anyone else? Did it resolve itself? I had a vaginal birth so I’m not sure if it will hurt anyways because of that..?

I found sex during pregnancy very uncomfortable it felt like my pelvis was just bruised and I literally couldn’t take it 🤣

I had an episiotomy and forceps delivery, I was nervous about sex again but i can say very happily I had zero pain or discomfort at 7 weeks pp. I’m 5 months pp now and we have sex basically twice a week and it’s jsut gone back to how it was before we fell pregnant!

I will say that it feeling sore after giving birth is normal the first few times you try. Just use plenty of lube, go slow and do not skip foreplay! Talk to your partner and try positions that don’t ‘stretch’ you out too much. Sorry to be graphic but you can work up to those 🙈

Slow and steady to start with!

Pelvic floor therapy will help you immensely ☺️ find a reputable one in your area!

Are you using a lubricant? Water based is best

I have always found sex during pregnancy really uncomfortable. I had an episiotomy so it was uncomfortable for months after birth too. Eventually it was painless and enjoyable. Preg again and it's uncomfortable again lol!

I also used to have a problem with sex and then once I got pregnant it was pretty painful and not as pleasurable. We just had sex for the first time since the baby last week and I had a little bit of pain where my tear was but with a little change in position(moving hip up or down to get comfortable) it was great again!

Same here. When sex painful during pregnancy, when I was about to give birth and the nurses were checking my cervix I was in soo much pain, my husband has to pretty much help me stay still because I was tossing and turning while I was getting checked. After giving birth sex was still painful. I and currently 5 months PP and things are getting back to normal. I had a C section by the way. Not sure if it makes a difference.

Sex during pregnancy was painful for me too. After my first baby it took me about 6 months to get back to where I felt like I did before pregnancy. Then I got pregnant again and the process has started all over🙃

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
