My son is 2 years old he just turned 2 on October. Last night my baby woke up 3 times and he was crying I was confused I don’t know what hurts. He would cry I would go in calm him down then lay him down and I would have to be with him for a couple of minutes to make sure he was asleep. He would just wake up and cry. Is this like a growth spurt?

My daughter does this sometimes and it turns out that she was “sleep-walking”, minus the walking. She would sit up in bed and cry/call for me and I’d go in, sit with her, try to talk to her (with minimal response) and soothe her and she’d soon lay back down and settle to sleep. I would ask her about it in the morning and she wouldn’t remember. She’s recently started doing this again, but she has started to get out of bed. Could your son actually be asleep when this is happening?
If he’s actually fully awake, I’d say it’s probably just something like a sleep regression, growing/development, etc, and likely a phase.

this!!!
I wouldn’t worry too much. Keep your routine the same, give him a minute once he starts crying, go comfort, and let him go back to sleep. It’s most likely a phase that will end eventually. I have two kids, almost 3 and almost 1, and my oldest has nights like that occasionally. She isn’t fully awake and sometimes comforting wakes her up and it’s worse, so I always wait one minute from the time I hear it. Everything in parenting is a phase. ❤️

Update his pp was swollen because he hurt it and I have no idea how it was completely fine last night when I changed his diaper and o just saw it this morning changing his diaper 😢

aww. Poor kiddo! Maybe there was a tiny hair wrapped around it. Hopefully the swelling goes down and he feels better soon!

Could be night terrors, you can’t really get through to them, they stay in that dream. Very common for the age.
