So I'm tracking what I eat to make sure I'm getting enough protein and I'm noticing that a lot of days, I'm eating around 1600-1800 calories. I'm not hungry, and when I get hungry I eat, and my nutrition is pretty good. I'm also already overweight. But I'm 16 weeks and haven't gained a since lb since getting pregnant. Which I'm okay with, don't get me wrong, but I want to make sure baby is getting enough nutrients. I can't imagine eating more as I already get so full and bloated whenever I eat, I started eating smaller portions to make myself more comfortable.
Is this safe? Is it okay to eat this much? Is it okay to not gain any weight if you're already overweight?

You're supposed to eat small meals throughout the day to accommodate the digestive struggles of pregnancy, but just make sure that you are eating nutritionally dense foods. A lot of them have less calories to begin with versus highly caloric foods not often having much nutritional value. If you are eating nutritionally dense, lowly caloric foods, you can end up trading your previous body fat for the new baby weight and break even. My OB-GYN stands by a healthy weight gain for a singleton pregnancy being about 25 lbs. But really, your anatomy scan will be the real answer.
