Dummy at night?

I'd offer a lovie, don't give a paci now lol. A nice soft blanket lovie with knots in it she can bite if needed. My daughter was EBF until 4 Mo & still sleeps with it💖

My two cents? She might just wake up looking for the dummy instead so you’ll be up and down replacing it.

how do you introduce that? I’ve tried before and she’s not interested 😂

that’s what I said! And my friend replied saying that what they do with their baby is they just leave 5 or 6 dummies in the cot so that their baby can just find them herself during the night

My son didn’t take a dummy until 7 months but I was happy for him to have it, he only has it for sleep but it’s helped massively. He’s old enough now to find it and put it in himself. Or if he can’t, it’s a matter of putting the dummy back in when he wakes which id take over having to rock and comfort back to sleep. From the beginning he’s only ever had it for sleep so I don’t see the harm at all, I was so happy when he finally took one 😅

Agree with this but… if your baby wakes would you prefer they go back to sleep by themselves or root around looking for a dummy, potentially waking?

And if it becomes a sleep crutch, then they need it for many months to come?

Personally I wouldn’t, and I would persevere in not offering the boob and trying other settling methods like shush pat and lessening your intervention?

BUT I think all of these things are personal choice and there is no wrong decision. We took our LO’s dummy away recently since he couldn’t link his sleep cycles because of it.

Any time she cried I'd pick it up before picking her up💖 3.5 & can't sleep without her "woobie"
