Declining induction

Is anyone else declining induction? I was due a week ago and the hospital won’t stop going on about induction and even changing things so I’ll say yes but I’m still declining as he clearly isn’t ready and I’m only a week late and that’s if the due date was even right

Done a lot of research and I really don’t feel like the risks of induction are worth it right now or even for another 2 weeks

You are free to decline an induction it’s not a pleasant experience from what I went through with my first born but am glad I did as his heart rate when I went to get it done he was 2 weeks late and if I had waited it would have put his life in danger. It might get to a point where you kinda don’t have a choice it’s either induction or emergency c section or both if they don’t appear naturally

I’m saying no unless absolutely necessary 👍🏼 even after 42 weeks I said I’d rather agree to daily monitoring

Absolutely would be doing the same as you - unless there is a medical reason or something changed. As you said, your body will be ready when its ready! Good luck Mama 🥰

I declined induction and am booked for a c-section on Thursday at 40+6. The only induction stories of my friends / family haven’t been the best and I’d rather skip it altogether . Midwife was great, consultant had a bit of push back but agreed

I’m planning on declining everything apart from a sweep just because I want a water birth and that’s one thing I’m set on and I know if I have any sort of medical induction I’ll have to be 24/7 monitored which means no birth pool and that’s just not on my agenda

You can absolutely opt for a c-sec. You have to listen to your gut and do what is right for you. You can call them and ask to be booked in I think ❤️

Your body, your choice. Maybe accept monitoring to check in on baby for reassurance? Xxx

just remember that if you go past 42 weeks you’re medically no longer considered low risk and they can decline to assist with a home birth and you’re no longer eligible for birth Centre delivery.

Avatar

just remember it’s your choice. My consultant wasn’t best impressed as c-sec was decided last Wednesday for this Thursday but he’s supposed to have asked a few weeks ago and didn’t (ftm so how was I supposed to know 🤷🏻‍♀️) all booked in though for 40+6)

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
