“Special time” after birth with your SO

Hi ladies, how long did you wait to do it after giving birth or even finding out you were pregnant. I’ve heard it’s normal to want to not rush into it. Want to to know how long it took others to get back into it.

EDIT - Meaning, has anyone lost their sex drive?

I had a c section and felt pretty good at 4 weeks but still waited till 6 weeks pp to be safe. Everyone’s body is different so just whenever you feel good to go.

After baby was 1 year old 😅 hadn't wanted it since first trimester

We waited 4 weeks with my first, but hurt to much but was good at 5 weeks and had my sex drive back pretty much after that
Waited 6weeks with my second (which was 7weeks ago)
And don’t feel sexually motivated at all at the moment, but I’m pretty exhausted have one two under two.
Both where natural vaginal births, so had to wait for stitches to heal and everything

My drive is still low at 6 months PP. But we had sex at 8 weeks - had to wait 2 weeks after depo shot as i was not taking any chances of falling pregnant.

We started trying to have “special time” 8 weeks after a vaginal birth. But we gradually did it to much information but he would only put it in half way to get me use to it again so overall about 10Weeks before we started officially enjoying ourselves x

I think we did around 12 weeks, I had a c section and I just felt tender, not very sexy and we were so tired all the time hehe.

Yet to experience this but my hynobirthing educator said nothing for 6 weeks post partum as least since there’s quite a lot of healing for mum to do. She said it’s also quite common to lose your sex drive during this period and also for your partner to loose theirs as their hormones also change during this period to suppress their sex drive.

I had a really high libido during my pregnancy and from about 3 weeks PP to 3/4 months PP then it kinda dropped off

How did your Partner cope? Was he okay with it?

@incognito I think he definitely missed it, but we were both so tired and he also respected that I had absolutely no desire to do it. I think breastfeeding really made me feel like I was just in Mum mode and didn't have any other part of me available. He mentioned it a few times early on but could see it made me upset so stopped mentioning it. I wish I had more drive but I'm still so tired and still breastfeeding and only just got my period back at 14 months PP 😅🤞I thought about seeing a naturopath which I might do if things still don't feel back to normal soon :)

Completely lost my sex drive during pregnancy, we had sex maybe 5 times when I was pregnant. Waited I think 10 weeks pp and again, had no drive. Probably had sex 3 times in the first 9 months. I’m 11 months pp now and my sex drive is back in full force 😂 I was so worried it would be gone forever. Give yourself time ❤️ your bodies just been through a huge experience

Everyone will be so different. My friend didn’t even try to have sex until the baby was 6 months and then they went another 6 months before the next time.

Hubby & I did it once I had the all clear from my doctor, who honestly said to me, the best time is when you’re ready.

My advice is use LOTS OF LUBE. Like don’t stinge on the lube.

My drive went completely but I knew it was important for our relationship. I found that while I wasn’t in the mood leading up to it, once we started, and I relaxed, I got into the mood.

And honestly that’s still the case 16 months post partum. I never feel like it but once we start I get in the mood. And then there are times when I’m like nope don’t touch me.

It’s all about communication and making sure your SO is being respectful about what you need/want or don’t want.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
