Anyone exclusively pumping?
Any advice on how to work out how much baby should be having?
What do you do in the night to store breast milk and feed in the night?
How many pumping sessions to keep up with baby’s demand? As I know breast would sort itself out in regards to supply and demand if feeding straight from breast!
Any tips would be amazing as had a really hard journey with breastfeeding and feel pumping is the best option for me and baby

I am working on exclusively pumping, but I have supply issues at the moment.. so we are topping up with formula but I have been advised to pump 20 minutes every 2-3 hours and hand express for 5 minutes each boob after pumping and a minimum of 8 times in 24 hours but inam working on building up my supply and this was advice from the lactation consultant.
I put the milk in the fridge during the night, I have a bottle ready in the fridge ready to feed and warm it up with hot water in a jug.
I was also told that babies work in volume. So you can give baby the same amount of milk if they were taking formula and then adjust it if they still look hungry, etc.

Breastmilk can be left at room temperature for 6 hours
thank you so much for this, really helpful!
yeah the one thing I’m struggling with is getting up in the night and go sort the bottle out, was thinking of something to make it easier maybe a cool bag or something and bring bottle up with me!
And also I’ve not given formula for now, so no idea on amounts. I’ve been giving him 3oz a feed, as he’s only 9 days old..I googled it and that’s what I it said but know that you can overfeed on breast milk out of the bottle so didn’t want to give him anymore…maybe I should speak to a lactation consultant

My little girl is 16 days old now and taking 120ml. She was taking 90ml from about 8 days old if that's any help xx

Also I've seen some people have mini fridges in their room for bottles. U can get one pretty cheap nowdays x

If you’re exclusively pumping then breastmilk is fine for 6hrs at room temp.
I pump around 1am/2am and leave that out by my bedside table for baby’s feeds the rest of the morning.
I dont find that I need to warm as breastmilk is fine for babies at room temp and my baby still likes it.

150ml per kg up to 3 months. At the hospital they split the total so the baby is fed every 3hrs x
