Shower time

For those single moms or moms with busy husbands, do you take your LO with you in the bathroom when you need to shower or do you have a different routine that works for you?

I just wait until I put her to bed at night. Single mom here. Sometimes I’ll do it during nap-time

My house is baby proofed so he just hangs out and plays while I shower

I was a stay at home mom for a a little over a year and I literally had to do everything with her, well still do even though I went back to work. In the beginning I would shower during her nap time but I would feel bad when I was mid shower and she’d burst out crying. So I started showering with her. I fill up her small tub, scoot it to the part of the tub furthest from the shower head and I hop on the other side of the tub. We have a handheld shower head so it works out for us but it would be hard if it was a fixed shower head. Eventually, I’m gonna have to figure something else out but for now that works for us.

I shower when he’s napping or sleeping. If it’s nap time, I usually only do a body rinse so I could be quicker if he wakes up and needs me. I have a few friends who shower with their babies, and my mom used to wash her hair in the laundry room sink when we were little and we hung out in there with her

I have a big walk in shower so she plays in her baby bath while I shower. I also used to just bring toys for her to play in the bathroom while I showered (big bathroom so it wasn’t like she was chilling right next to the toilet) but I like using the baby bath now.

Before my little one was mobile I'd set him down in the bathroom in one of those seats for a quick shower. After that it was during nap time.

Now that I'm back to work I try to shower before he wakes up for the day. I probably manage 1-2 showers a week?

I wait for bedtime

Avatar

Either at night after she goes to bed, or I’ll pop her into her activity center/exersaucer thing that’s in our bedroom with a bunch of toys and music playing and I’ll shower in our attached bathroom with the door cracked so I can hear her if she needs me, but usually the music and toys entertain her well for the 15-20 minutes I need to shower and/or do my hair if it’s a wash day.

I literally bring her high chair and a few toys into the bathroom so she can play while I shower. I just look out at her and play peekaboo as well

He sits in his jumper / strap-in seat and my shower is the only screen time he gets each day. I don't dare shower when he sleeps because I want that sleep time for myself haha

I either take him in the shower with me or put him gated in the living room with Ms Rachel

She plays in the bathroom while I shower! I just lock her in with me. She gets bored of the shower after a few minutes now, but she used to shower with me.

I wait till bedtime &’ take a nice long relaxing shower with my show in the background lol. It’s become a nightly routine &’ I love it.

I put her in the playpen outside the shower … or I do it when she’s napping … sometimes I just sit her in the bottom of the shower while I shower too

Avatar

I take a shower with my lo I bring play pen in so she’s content otherwise I’ll go many days without one

I shower at night after she is asleep

Single mommy here. My room is across from the bathroom, like very close, and it’s very convenient for me because I can just shower with the door open while watching her through the cracks of the bathroom door. And I can also hear her playing with her toys. But when she was younger, I had no choice but to bring her in with me

Stay at home mama here and I wait until he is asleep during his nap time or bedtime.

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
