My 5 month old just got his helmet recently and is struggling to sleep in his crib at night with his helmet on. He will knock out in my arms or on my bed but once he goes to the crib starts bursting out crying. Looking for any advice to be able to help make his nights in the crib easier 🥲

does he sleep in the crib with his helmet during naps?

Yes he does. The doctor told me he has to wear it 23 hours a day with an hour break that I usually do during bath time

the first week was the hardest for us. We recently just finish the helmet. Honestly I let my son cry but if it gets to the point where I need to get him then I do . I notice too that when I dress him light he sleeps good.

Oh I’m sorry I read that wrong. When he naps he sleeps in the swing or where ever he falls asleep. He is with a family member usually during the day while I have work so they will place him on the bed or anywhere they can put him down to sleep

we also put a fan in his room and that really helped him sleep.

does he sleep in his back or stomach?

I’d say practice some naps in the crib in general! It might not be the helmet, it could just be he’s not used to the crib. We put our guy down in just a diaper and his sleep sack for the first week or so for his body to adjust but his sleep wasn’t disrupted from the helmet. Our doc said it just feels like they’re laying on a pillow which gave me some peace of mind
