My little one is 10 weeks and he wakes up from 3am every morning squirming, twitching, kicking, and occasionally crying he jumps a lot in his sleep too! Anyone know why? It’s been happening for weeks!!! He’s still trying to fall back to sleep so I have no idea what it is and it’s definitely not active sleep - also for reference he’s breastfed and sleeps on my chest (safely and I don’t go to sleep me and my partner swap in the night)

Sounds like he’s potentially gassy ?
o did think this but have no idea how to help him

Have you tried infacol? It can be brought from any pharmacy or supermarket
we tried infacol but he would always sick it up so we stopped. He is also on antibiotics so we’re not 100% certain what he can have alongside these

I would definitely speak with the pharmacy. I know that there’s alternatives to infacol x

Sounds like they're gassy. Apparently 3am-4am is when their digestive system starts waking up too

Are his eyes open or shut?
If they are shut then he is actually just active sleeping
nope his eyes are wide open

Gripe water is good too, give it to them half hour after you’ve finished feeding or in the night when he’s struggling, it takes about 20mins to kick in and helps them relieve gas

Sounds exactly like my son except that with my son it’s 24/7. All the doctors we’ve seen said it was colic and that it should pass when he’s 10-12 weeks. He sleeps on our chests too that’s the only way we all get some sleep. Nothing worked except “colic calm” that helped a bit. We’ve now stopped giving it to him as he seems to be better this week, still cries occasionally and jumps a lot (turned 11 weeks yesterday). Worth noting I’m on dairy free diet, it’s been 2 weeks and needs to be 4
ah thank you so much I’ll give the dairy free diet a try too !!
thank you I’ll grab some

Have you tried Colief?
I found it helps my little one so much

My baby does this too - I thought it was gas/reflux.

2 of the doctors I’ve seen said I had to do it for 4 weeks. My son’s stools are very watery with loads of mucous which shouldn’t happen as much for a baby his age. This indicates that he potentially is intolerant to something in the milk hence the dairy free diet. That’s the only way to find out
