Hi! I’m 39+4, no sign of labour at all and my gut feeling tells me that she won’t be out unless I request induction…
I’m not very keen on having induction, also seeing 50/50 good or bad experience of it from the posts here or hear from friends.
While I almost see or hear everyone who had c section shared very positive experience - that makes me feel more confident for labouring.
My question is: for c section moms, how’s your recovery? How long does it take for you to resume normal activities (go to toilet, shower or cook as usual..)?
I’m having 40w appointment this Friday so wanna discuss with midwife about it.
Thanks in advance!!

Recovery is quite full on, it’s a major operation after all - but the difference I would be mindful of is if it’s emergency vs elective. If you have an induction and it results in an emergency c-section (not all do, but worth being mindful of the stats), that experience is very different to an elective. Currently recovering from my 2nd c-section which was elective and absolutely loved the process. It was controlled and dare I say enjoyable even though it took 2 hours to do and lost just over 2.5 litres of blood (there were complications from my first emergency c-section that they had to contend with). I’m on day 8 and moving around a lot better, showering every day (can shower as soon as your catheter is out in the hospital) can play with my toddler and I’ve cooked 3 meals. Each person’s recovery is different of course, but I genuinely believe it’s a little easier because of the control I’ve had over it this time. Happy to answer anything from my experience 🧡

I'm now 12 days post c section and I was up and about showering, cooking etc to nearly a normal level on day 5. Still have to take it easy but I think everyone will be different! I found it harder this time as it was my second and had my toddler who I couldn't ignore x
