Looking for advice from other co-sleepers to transition to independent sleeping. Co-sleeping was the only way to get any legitimate sleep for many months but now my baby moves so much and is so restless we’re starting to trend to poor quality sleep on average. I don’t breastfeed and we are weaning away from the middle of the night bottle. He takes 32 ounces of formula during the day and three solid “meals” a day so he should be able to go all night without a bottle.
I’ll also say that he takes all naps in his crib and starts off the night for the first 2-4 hours in his crib but usually wakes 2-3 times in that timeframe. So I then take him with me when I go to sleep.
I’m investigating different sleep training methods (aside from CIO) but thought I’d post to see if anyone has transitioned successfully and what they did.
Thanks in advance!

I haven’t able to successfully transition, but I am in the same situation. I’ve been thinking of doing it as soon as this week and using the Ferber method. I think it will be quite a shock to my baby, but hopefully that’ll just last for a few days. From what you described I think the transition might be easier for you since your son is already taking naps and starting the night in his crib. Anyway good luck! Hope it goes well!
I’ve also been considering the Farber method. Toeing the line between discipline and survival mode is so hard. I’m thinking we’ll try this weekend when I don’t have the pressure of work.
I also read that sleeping in their room next to the crib for a few days can help the transition so I’m considering pulling out the blowup mattress. Lol
I don’t want to wish these days away bc they’re so precious but I’m also really struggling with the sleep deprivation. Definitely ready for a solution.
I have! Her guides are kind of expensive so I haven’t purchased…I did purchase another guide and I feel like we’re doing the recommended things aside from just going ahead and sleep training. Sickness and sleep regressions aren’t helping either 😭
