Following for the same, my boy has his tomorrow š©

Same here, my LG has got hers tomorrow

What kind of bad things have you heard?
My daughter is 6 and had all of hers. She had the tiniest bit of a fever on the last ones but it only lasted 24 hours and calpol controlled her temp fine š she was okay in herself and now well protected.

I read loads of thing of the being sick and being ill with them for weeks

Did you get contacted for an appointment or do I need to call my GP and book one? My boy is 1 next week and I haven't heard anything.

I had to ring them and book it

My LO had his last week, obviously cried during the needles but afterwards he was fine, we did do Calpol for the rest of the day just to be on the safe side but he was fine so much so we went to a soft play in the afternoon š

they contacted us

that they are sick for weeks sometimes so I m a bit scared as the others were just fine but many other mums noticed that 1 year one is somehow a bit ātougherā on them

I canāt say Iāve ever heard of that. If that happens, although it would suck big time!! I would prefer the child was sick now because of the injection, than very unwell later down the line over something that could have been preventable if the injection is missed . Thatās how I would see it going forward. šHopefully it doesnāt, but surely this is rare ? Iāve never heard of anyone mention this before and all my friends have children of a range of ages. Not saying itās not true, just maybe it doesnāt happen very often.

it may depend on where you are. I am in wales and they sent a letter saying for us to book it after a certain date.

We had ours yesterday at 11am, fever kicked in yesterday afternoon and havenāt shaken it yet. Using calpol and nurofen. She hasnāt been physically unwell, just a lot of trouble getting down to sleep and refusing milk but sheās drinking lots of water. No rashes either.

I am not questioning at all the importance of having them, of course he will and I completely understand the benefits and why this is done. I am just worried, thatās all and itās reassuring to hear different experiences.
I know that even in the event he gets ill it will be just temporary too, but I guess itās just the emotional response of a worried mum š
Thank you for the reassurance anyway šš¼

fever that lasts longer than 48 hours, rashes, just feeling very miserable for over a week. These are some of the things I have seen in other little ones

of course, I just meant the alternative would be not having it done. Therefore, thereās no point in worrying over something that may never happen because the injection will be done regardless! š©· (unless chosen otherwise of course) its easier said than done I know. I am terrible for worrying ahead. š but this is our problem. It canāt be good for us worrying so much all of the time. I have extra wrinkles for sure! š„“š

Mine had his last week but he goes to nursery too and has another cold/ear infection so has been very ill but honestly a lot of the ābad reactionsā will be other viruses theyāve picked up that were just made a bit worse because their immune system was fighting the vaccinations too. The vaccinations are fine! Mainly just a fever if anything to look for. Your baby will be fine :)!
Tbh babies are always a bit unwell this time of year so it is what it is š

My sons 3 and a half and I donāt remember him being sick afterwards. I think he may of had a little temp and a bit more cuddly/sleepy but nothing more than that and I work in early years and in all my years have never heard of children being sick for weeks after the 12m jabs. But also thatās not to say it canāt happen. Fingers crossed all our little ones will be fine xx

My boy got his on the 9th, he was out of sorts for his first lots so I was anxious but heās been absolutely fine. Had a big nap on the day, but no fever, rashes, not off his milk or food (apart from a bit of teething refusal), couldnāt tell the difference at all.
Did have a big red warm sore-looking leg but I donāt think he even noticed it tbh, we didnāt do calpol or anything.

My little one had them yesterday, she has been fine so far other than a little bit whingy so maybe achey legs but hasnāt had a fever yet and seems ok for now x

My little girl had them last week, cried when she had them and the first day and a half her legs were sore so cried when she moved and picked her up other then that she was fine no fever etc we just kept on top of calpol :) x
