Anyone taken cyclazine for morning sickness?

Very very sick at the moment, doctor has prescribed but nervous due to the list of side affects, I’m a teacher and need to be alert! What are others experiences please?

I’ve had it , but during my pregnancy I found cyclazine as an injection while very uncomfy helped me loads more than the tablets

I did.. didn’t have any side effects but unfortunately didn’t really work for me although it does for lots of people!

I had it and it made me very drowsy and didn’t work at all, Promethazine worked for me.

I used it and it was a lifesaver. I didn't have any side effects and I didn't feel sleepy (other than the pregnancy tiredness I was getting anyway). You could always try it on the weekend to see how it affects you? Most of the other meds used are anti-histamines too so will make some people sleepy. And if you're took sick to work at the minute then I'd say it's worth the risk

I only took mine at night time so I could get through the night without the nausea. During the day I tried to cope the best I could by eating all day.

same for me! Didn’t work at all and made me incredibly drowsy and out of it, I finally went onto ondansetron and it changed my whole pregnancy! No sickness at all and only side effect was constipation which I managed with changing my diet and occasionally lacultose! X

Avatar

I did but it didn't work for me. Promethazine did the trick. Baby was fine also. My sickness lasted 7 week till 13 weeks 2 days exactly x

Avatar

Didn’t totally work for me but some improvements and no side effects (I tried 7 or 8 different types!)

I had meclizine and absolutely fell asleep so I chose to tough it out. I also didn't want the side effects

Avatar

Yes , was a lifesaver for me. X

I remember I was going on holiday and was having a meltdown because I was so sick and Cyclizine didn’t work but I was willing to try any of them 😅 yeah the Promethazine changed everything. The nausea got so much better and I could travel without thinking I was gonna throw up 😂 x

I had horrific side effects…falling asleep in the middle of nowhere and feeling very disorientated and out of it. Did research and found this was common. Never took it again!

Avatar

It took the edge off of the nausea for me which was all day, all night. Didn’t totally get rid but I was reluctant like you to take meds, particularly at the beginning. Didn’t really experience any side effects but I was off of work with it so did do quite a bit of sleeping lol xx

Avatar

i’ve had it, helped with the sickness but made me very irritable and mentally unstable, wish i knew this before as now on i thoroughly research the medications before i take them but before i was too poorly to care x

Avatar

Ive used Cyclizine in both pregnancies in my first trimester and its worked well for me. I suffered with 24/7 nausea and it just took the edge off for me. No obvious side effects.

Avatar

I didn’t have any proper side effects just made me sleepy sometimes, it helped but not much 🤣 xx

Avatar

I had it and would honestly say the only reason it stopped me feeling nauseous is because it sent me to sleep!

Avatar

I had it and for the first few times using it I was drowsy but not not alert. But that was in my first trimester when I was already underfueled from being sick and also tired from pregnancy in general.

Since my morning sickness stopped at about 16 weeks, I’ve had nausea on and off so I’ve taken some more and it hasn’t made anywhere near as sleepy.

I have to say though, it helps but doesn’t always stop morning sickness. Give it a go and if it doesn’t work, there are other alternatives your GP can prescribe 😊

Avatar

I've been in it since week 7 currently 21 weeks. It's really helped me with my nursing sickness and I didn't have any side effects.

Avatar

I had awful side effects from it..it's usually their first recommendation but they can prescribe something else if you request. It's luckily not the only option!

Do active babies in the womb become active newborns?

I had my 40 week ultrasound yesterday (on my due date) and the doctor mentioned how active my baby is. Curious as to your experiences regarding if your baby was active in the womb, are they likely to be active when they’re newborn? 😊

Has anyone here had a small bump with a baby that weighed measured average size? Its really worrying me! I have a 30 week scan and one at 37 weeks because im on a moderate pathway - had a gastric sleeve in 2023 so its to check she is growing but as the comments are coming im now panicking where I wasnt before 😫

Early Labour?

I’m 34 weeks today, since 3am I’ve been having irregular cramping which becomes quite intense and has caused me to vomit. I’ve also had diarrhoea. Could I be in early labour or could I just have a bad stomach? I feel generally well in myself

When is it ok to start running again? Health visitor advised to wait longer before running but did anyone start at 7 weeks and how?
I know I won't be running marathons any time soon and probably have to start back at a couch to 5k but when?! I'm getting restless legs! Advice please

28wk5days growth scan📈

I’ve just been to my first growth scan as my bump was measuring small, for the lady to say that baby should be between 2pound 2ounces - 2pound 5ounces and my baby is measuring 2pound 15ounces which is above average, any one else has similar measurements?x
