7 w post c-section running

When is it ok to start running again? Health visitor advised to wait longer before running but did anyone start at 7 weeks and how?
I know I won't be running marathons any time soon and probably have to start back at a couch to 5k but when?! I'm getting restless legs! Advice please

12 weeks. Wait for the tissue to heel. There are several layers of fat that needs to heal that you cant see. 6 month today, I still feel sensitive there. Walk instead

6 weeks for driving unless still in a lot of pain and 12weeks if no pain but everyone is different I can’t run or jump and it’s been 1 years and 2 weeks I still got heaps of pain over my pelvic floor area and right across c section so I wouldn’t recommend running around until you know your fully recovered 🙂 definitely do check up’s with ya Gp

I started back again at just before 7 weeks, i felt fine a lot earlier and was itching to get out but i decided to wait till after my 6week appointment to be sure.
I felt good as id done a lot of walking building up with the dogs anyway so i just went out and did 1.2miles, thankfully my scar/belly felt absolutely fine too it was just my body being unfit that was the issue!
After that first run i just went straight for 5k runs again and had no issues after any of them at all albeit im very slow now compared to previously 😅
Just listen to your body and give yourself good rest in between, walk if you need to, take it easy and don’t push it too hard and if you notice any issues at all then stop!!

I know I’ll be the same as you!! There’s a test on summahealth to see if you’re ready for running. I think this check + your 6 week doctor sign off + a 6 week pelvic floor physio check should give you reassurance to know when :) I’m thinking for myself if I’m okay it’s realistic to start at ~10-12 weeks

Run? Girl take it slow forreal. Like several months later, your body is in a delicate state

I was a big runner pre babies and during pregnancy. I got into yoga at 6w and light jogging at 8w pp, I was cleared first. Slowly got back to pace by 16w and 6 months after my section was running races again.

Stamina takes a while to recover but keep at it at your own pace and forget times. I did parkruns with the pram, slow and steady till I was strong enough to maintain a pace and keep a good time.

I had electives though with no recovery issues and was walking every day from discharge.

I was active before my c section and started short walks the day after my surgery. I started running between 6 and 7 weeks. When I say running, it was short jogs, or walk jog intervals. No one knows your body and your recovery better than you! Trust your gut but also respect the healing process. By 12 weeks I was back to “normal” for most everything except heavy core work

Depends on your recovery and body. I’ve been told to wait as my muscle separation is bad and running will make it worse. So been given exercises by the physio to do for now and slowly build up to go back to running eventually

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏
