My son recently started taking the bottle after being exclusively nursed for 3 months! Yay, big win for us! I’m continuing to nurse, as it’s so convenient and honestly, I love it. But we give him a bottle of pumped milk once a day. He drinks 4oz from the bottle, so I assume that’s what he gets from nursing. When he takes the bottle, I pump, but I can only get out 1oz to 1.5oz. How do I empty my breasts? I’m at a loss.

average pumping output alongside exclusive breastfeeding is 0.1-2 oz combined from both breasts so you’re actually pumping on the higher side of average! I would just pump a few times a day for a while and it may increase a bit if not eventually you’ll be able to create enough of a frozen stash that you replace it in time of him drinking it if that makes sense?

Make sure you are using the correct flange size !!
