My surgery is next Wednesday and I was gifted some of these instant ice pads, should i take them to the hospital? Will I need them at all?

Hello! I used nothing for my belows after my section, I just used normal maternity pads for a week as I barely bled either but everyone is different xx

I didn’t need anything like that after all 3 csections. Only thing I used was the peri bottle they give at the hospital for cleaning and that’s it

I didn’t use any cooling stuff either but if it makes you feel comfortable to have as a just in case you can bring them!

Nah you won’t need cooling I don’t think just normal ones xx

ok good to know! Thanks, did you buy them or did the hospital give you the maternity pads?

Nah you don’t need them, but you could use them to help soothe your C-section wound

🤔🤔 thats a great idea!!

The hospital gave me some but only a few to start with I took my own in with me, xx

No I didn’t need them I Bought them in ; incase I had a vaginal birth and vaginal tear but since I had a c section I didn’t need it so I gave it to my sister for her to use in her vaginal birth

I didn't use anything like that. Just regular pads and a hot pad on my belly

they say you can use ice to soothe it (Atleast my hospital did) even if you don’t at the hospital I used Ice to soothe mine about 2-3 weeks post c section could help :)

how soon can you use warm/cold pads on your scar? X

excuse my ignorance, but did you use the peri bottle to clean your scar area?

When you go to the bathroom you spray water before wiping lightly

I used them as ice packs for my incision and it helped with the pain. I was gifted them but also got a bunch from the hospital.

Did not need them at all.

The hospital will supply some. I actually used on over my incision the night I came home. We had an hour drive home and it was a bit sore and swollen.

Momma here that had a rough recovery from a csection... I tried to use them, but didn't feel like they helped much.
Wishing you a speedy and safe recovery!

oh wow, im so sorry to hear that! Thats no fun🥹 thank you girl! 🩷💜🩷

I did this after my son and it definitely helped!

I used to put ice just because it would help with itchiness

You don’t need anything other then a nice heavy duty pad lol and peri bottles help with cleaning you since the first few days you’re very sore.

I didn’t use them. The only think that was helpful was the binder!

Nope x

I didn’t use them but definitely think they would have helped a little as you can be sore from the catheter bruising! Which is quite painful. Not sure if everyone gets that though !x

they provided them at the hospital but tbh i didn’t use mine even once. i had a scheduled c section for Oct 11th and ended up getting it Oct 9th due to kidney failure and reduced movement lol but i never ended up using the ice pack since you don’t really have pain “down there” (or at least i didn’t! even from catheter thankfully) some mommas use them for incision site tho i believe but don’t quote me on that! you can ask hospital or your OB if that would be alright to do tho :)

My hospital provided them! I technically did not NEED them but it helped with diverting pain away from the incision site & provided extra cushion for down there

I didn’t need them but I also had access to them in the hospital. They had a ton of them. I had a very easy recovery and the only thing I found useful in terms of my scar were Frida c section scar pads after my scar was healed more.

Yes! Even though they are me at for your vagina area I liked them for my c section areas for swelling and or felt good on that area. Not only for cooling but also felt like I had a little cushion. And the best part is it doesn’t leak so I used those ice packs for lunch boxes but they leave condensation so not good for if you are keeping the area dry. I did make my own ice pads for down there in case I had a vaginal delivery but ended up having a c section. But I liked them for there anyway because I had smelling on the area below the cut and wearing that gave that area some coolness for swelling. I was given some as well and I used them and what the hospital gave me so I took two of those and used what the hospital gave me while there and after I got home used both interchangeable when I did use them.
