Bump and baby vs NCT antenatal classes

It’s early days but I want to book my antenatal classes early. Any advice on which one I should choose? Both are offered in my area.

Hey, are bump and baby nhs? With my first I did the NHS classes. Since then, a few of my friends have done NCT and it wasn’t a midwife and they seemed to be getting told different information. My friend was told at NCT you can’t use the pool if you’re induced but I was induced with my first and could use the pool. From the sounds of things, NCT can be good to meet local pregnant ladies so you know people in the same boat xz

I've done both in the past and the NCT class was a million times better, much better and more accurate and not biased information, much better group discussion and reflection instead of feeling lectured at, much more positivity, and more promotion of connection with the other parents there.
We made lovely friends too.
I didn't like the NHS classes in comparison, it was negative and overly medical and not helpful at all for having an active and positive birth.
I've since done hypnobirthing group class (for baby 2 and 3) and that was absolutely invaluable. I'm now on baba 4 and just doing an online hypnobirthing refresher as it's been over 5 years since my last baby.

We did NCT and it was utter rubbish. Using peanut and baby classes once baby is here is 1000x better and saves you money.

Everyone told me you get friends for life from NCT and paying so much really makes a difference. It doesn't. It's potluck. Plus almost all, if not all, of the NCT ladies are gunna be on peanut and in the local baby classes.

The free NHS info is more than enough to prepare for birth tbh, and peanut forums are way more responsive.

Was recommended to me by a friend ! I liked that they had a hypno birthing section to it .

I think it depends on the classes you go to and who’s running it, we went with a class a local midwife was running over nct, as she was a working midwife all the info was really up to date and realistic. I found it really helpful. I have heard that nct does push the natural route and doesn’t provide as much information about intervention and what the options are.

Has anyone else had issues with their friends that aren't pregnant or have kids?

I have a friend at work and we've become really close over the years. But ever since I become pregnant she just doesn't understand anything I'm going through which is fine except for the fact that the past few days I have been exhausted physically and socially. We have been helping another friend out for about a month now and we've had to keep him entertained as he's going through a rough time right now and it's drained me socially . my friend at work is frustrated because I'm not talking a lot and I'm exhausted and she doesn't understand why and I'm just curious if anybody else has had issues with friends that are not going to the same thing or have gone through the same thing as you connecting with you because she's literally mad at me. She stopped talking to me at work today and I just don't understand what to do.

How to deal with loneliness in pregnancy when your boyfriend goes out with his friends drinking 😅🥲 I only have three friends, two are never really free and one lives back in Liverpool and has her own set of friends where she goes to raves and goes on holiday with them lol. STD rates and body count

Saw an interesting video and I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this topic!

So std rates are at an all time high as we all know. Do you think the mindset that body count doesn’t matter has contributed to the significant increase of STDs and HIV?

Secondly if someone says that body count doesn’t matter do you believe they are less likely to practice safe sex compared to people who believe in more traditional values?
