Can someone confirm whether baked from the oven camembert is safe to eat? I absolutely love it this time of year and know not to eat it raw/uncooked but last night I shared one with my partner at a pub along with a roast dinner. I would usually eat the white rind but being cautious, I didnāt. Iām just over 13 weeks pregnant and have been googling most things to see if itās safe and I read that you can if itās been cooked but just want some more advice from people possibly in the same boat š«¶š» TIA x

Yes we can eat baked Camembert! All cheese is good when thoroughly cooked! Eating massive amounts of baked Camembert has been the only way I've got though my cheese cravings this pregnancyš¤£

Honestly anything in moderation will not harm you or baby. 4 completely healthy children and had small amounts of cheeses/cured meats/pate/runny eggs when I fancied them. X

I have been eating it baked and I am 38 weeks now. Mmm

ah thank you thatās massively reassuring! As a hypochondriac I drastically overthink everything and google everything (which my partner finds funny š), but Iām glad to know that hopefully it wonāt have any impact on little bambino.
On a side note, this is probably TMI however I went to a restaurant the other called mowgli - they do street style Indian food. Me and my partner ordered a selection and equally shared everything. Everything was cooked and was lovely. I was extremely full after (didnāt help that I was wearing a skirt that was borderline too small now) and when I got home, after about an hour and I the worst upset tummy you can imagine. To the point that I had to RUN to the toilet. Afterwards I was fine and my partner didnāt have any issues at all. Do you reckon itās because Iām not used to such rich foods (living on a cereal diet currently) and perhaps my body just didnāt agree with it? Iāve had a similar situ before and itās been AIO but just worry š©·

So glad you asked this as I am really craving cheese and cheddar just isnāt going to cut it this Christmas! Baked Camembert is going to save me! X

I completely understand your fears as I am a massive hypochondriac also! Trust me I've done all the googling so I have learned a few things at 34 weeks pregnant 𤣠as for the Indian food, because your partner didn't get sick it's not because the food was bad and you got food poisoning, it's just because your body reacted differently. Probably yes because you've only been eating cereals and it was too rich in one go for it. Also because of pregnancy hormones our digestion is affected and diorreah is common. This exact thing happened to me at about 18 weeks where my partner and I ate the same food and I had to run to the toilet also and they were fine!

Yep if itās been baked itās fine

Yep all good I ate it throughout my pregnancy, completely safe x

You can now get pasteurised Camembert too!

I thought the issues wasn't because it was unpasteurised, just because of the white rind? But if that's the reason we can't have white rind cheeses I'm happy about this!š

Yew baked camembert and baked brie are both good to eat. Thank god coz I love brie.

Thanks everyone! This is really positive to hear and great in knowing I can have it over Christmas! š©·š

Wish I knew this during my pregnancy as I was the exactly the same and googled everything š
