So I’m 17+5 and have tested positive for Covid today. I’m not in anyway and anti vaxer in fact before I became pregnant due to my type 1 diabetes I’ve already had 5 jabs however I’m not having it pregnant. Personally I can’t see how in 3 years we can go from it’s not safe for pregnant women to now saying it’s safe. There is simply not enough evidence to prove otherwise in my humble opinion; Maybe in 20 years when it’s proven to be safe for my baby then yes. What I wondered is if anyone has had covid whilst pregnant how were you? I would say this is just a mild cold however I am so so tired and my blood glucose is running high. Other than that I’m doing ok. Anyone have any experience of covid and pregnancy 🤰🏼

I had covid in my last pregnancy and I was 28 weeks. I hadn’t had the vaccine. It was the first Christmas of the pandemic when everyone caught it so my whole family had it and I was no more poorly than anyone else. I went into hospital a couple of times to be checked over, particularly when my blood sugars were playing up. I would say just keep an eye on things as you would if you had flu or a chest infection. If you’re running high and can’t get your bloods down an insulin drip in hospital for a few hours might help stabilise things. The exhaustion is hard! Hope you feel better soon. I think I have it at the moment too but don’t want to test haha!

yes don’t test then you don’t have it 🤣I’ve only tested as the hospital need to know to help with my ridiculous out of control BG. I’m running my basal at 40% increase and pumping loads of Insulin into me. I’ll speak to my type 1 team tomorrow. Thanks and I hope you don’t have the Rona x

I am also type 1 diabetic.. I also didn't have the vaccine this year whilst pregnant... AND I also caught COVID when I was 17 weeks pregnant.. I felt pretty rotten with high blood sugars, but only lasted maybe 3-5 days and I was back to normal! Fingers crossed will be quick for you 😊

thanks for your reassurance x
