Cold sore/ Swollen Lips

Hello,

I am 7 days postpartum and really struggling with cold sores. They were very small when they started and now seem to be growing. They are extremely painful/sensitive. I’m worried about given them to my baby. Is this a normal thing after birth is there anything I can do or should be doing?

Thank you x

Ask your OB for valtrex. Don’t kiss baby and try to have hand sanitizer on hand especially if you breast feed.
I’m so sorry! I had this as well and regularly get them!

Thank you, I’m very prone to getting them. But I didn’t realise how bad they were getting:( x

Mine are horrific too and I get them on my chin. My are affected by hormones to this pregnancy/ birth and after have attracted a lot. Just hand sanitiser and no kissing baby which is hard. As soon as I had given birth I went back on the aclovir medication which seems to really reduce how many times a year I get them. Ice helps with the discomfort and hopefully they will go away soon, you need to rest.

Oh my, they look so sore! Ice is definitely a relief for them. Also, I recommend the Compeed patches; they quicken up the healing and add a layer of protection for the baby. Have hand sanitiser next to you and just be over cautious

Get yourself some cold sore cream too. And you can take Lysine supplements. Make sure you’re eating well and if you can sleep when baby sleeps, I get them really bad too, mine flare up when I am run down and not getting enough sleep and not eating properly!

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Ms. Aura Alyse is here 👑🌈🫶🏽

Worth the wait and pain. Baby girl arrived at 7:15 this am weighing 7lbs 6oz. She is so calm and chill.

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Growth scan

So had my 28 week midwife appointment- all good but after measuring bump- I’m now waiting on a scan within a few days as bump is measuring small I’m not worried as I am guessing a tape measure is hardly accurate but
For anyone who has been in a similar position- what was the outcome after the scan? Was the baby on the smaller side ?
Was baby measuring normal?

Thanks
