Nappy brands - do they matter? Which to avoid etc

Hi I am a new mum due 30th Jan and I’ve bought Asda and Sainsbury’s own brand nappies as they’re under £2 for 40 compared to pampers which are £11 (don’t quote me on those prices though). Family have said that I won’t be using them as they wont absorb well enough however on the packaging it says they’re super absorbent and 3-d layered(?). Have you guys used these brands before? I heard on tiktok that pampers aren’t that good. Which brands are recommended?

I bought Aldi ones, based on friends recommendation as I’m ftm! I’ve heard Sainsbury and Tesco’s are very good as well xx

I personally prefer the Tesco nappies over pampers, and I've just brought the Tesco ones this time. I've heard that the Aldi and Asda ones are good too. Don't really rate Huggies either tbh, although their bigger sizes are better

Tesco and saninsbury own really good believe me never had any issue perfect at a very low price …

Big fan of little angels from Asda. Almost never any leaks - which did happen with pampers. And affordable too..

I’ve used pampers and tesco and honestly haven’t found a difference between them. The tesco ones are really cheap too.

We’re going to be using Aldi ones as they’ve been recommended to us the most

I think its a bit trial and error with nappies. I tried a few but have always gone back to pampers, although I've never had major issues with the ones I have tried I just found pampers more absorbent and better at containing poonamis x

Big fan of lidl lupilu up until size 4, then I switched to nutmeg and Aldi. Now he's in size 7 I mostly use Aldi and pampers but had absolutely no issues with own brands while he was a newborn

Aldi are fantastic, will be using them again

I found different sizes better in different brands so a bit trial and error. Aldi and asda were great when newborn, then used nutmeg mainly as it’s where we do our usual shopping but I have used pampers overnight as I do find them the best but expensive so save them for nighttime! X

Also and the Tesco own brand have really good reviews x

Wouldn’t recommend Sainsburys tbh! They last 2 hours max on my son.

We ended up going with pampers tbh, they are by far the most absorbent and always available on clubcard deals etc!

I found that we were spending more on supermarket branded nappies cause they weren’t as absorbent but that’s me!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.
