My baby girl has developed a huge fear of baths and she screams and clings to me when she sees the tub with water. Any experience with how to get her over this? She used to love baths and even sitting in her kiddy pool during the summer, and this is a recent development in the past couple months.

It’s a phase my daughter went through this around a year old. It lasted a couple weeks but she finally got over it. Was nearly impossible to get her into the bathtub. It will pass. Try bath crayons or toys make bath time fun. Taking her into the shower with me also help a little

If you are using a kid tub try putting her in the big tub. My daughter did the same thing then I went to target bought bath toys a mat and just put her in the regular tub and she was fine

This started for us too the first week of November after we did a (super easy gentle) swim lesson! We shower next to our bathtub to help with exposure and buy all the bath toys and let her put them in the bath but all that to say it’s been 10 weeks and no end in sight so I FEEL ya. 😫😫😫

We do “baby spa”. I play a baby spa playlist on Spotify before bath time starts and during bath. It’s a slow, peaceful time. I let her bathe herself first.

Did you try getting in a tub with her?

Yes, unfortunately she screams and clings to me standing the whole time. So far the only thing I’ve been able to do where she doesn’t scream in terror is put her in an empty tub next to her infant tub filled with water and she’ll kind of put her hand in it. She definitely seems afraid of the water… so I think I’ll try putting her in the empty tub and adding a bit of water slowly to see how she responds to that. Putting her directly into the water is terrifying to her for some reason.
