I’ve been vegetarian since 9, and have also been vegan a few times too!
Have you tried the meat substitutes?

Follow vegan accounts on IG and there is no shortage of inspiration & ideas of what to make. Bosh is a popular account...as soon as you follow that you'll see other suggestions too.

Thank you everyone, I feel like I wont enjoy the substitutes as i was a big meat eater... and I'm dead funny about the soft texture of things I'll definitely follow things on insta xx

I’ve been vegan for 10 years and I’m a registered dietitian - the #1 thing to keep in mind is that a plant based diet is less calorie dense than an omnivorous diet most of the time so the biggest issue I see across the board is that people often undereat at first without knowing it! So make sure your portion sizes are bigger than they used to be. Also make sure you are including a good amount of calorie dense foods with each meal (ie, rice, beans, potato, quinoa, pasta, nuts/nut butters, avocado, tofu, the meat substitutes people have mentioned). If your meals are mostly fruits and vegetables right now it’ll be very challenging to get enough to feel full and satisfied! I second the recommendation to check out some vegan food accounts for inspiration! There are so many great ones. But again, if the dish is just veggies or like mostly veggies, it’s not going to cut it! Look for heartier stuff like burrito bowls, curry dishes, pastas or something like that

Tofu, beans & legumes. Nuts for snacks

The Impossible brand is the most like beef of any of em, our personal opinion. The Beyond sausage patties are the best.

And there's always pizza 😆

I’ve been vegetarian since 2014. Ever since 2021 I cook exclusively Indian food but I also have a soft spot for Mexican! A huge portion of India is vegetarian so they’ve got it down.
Before I started cooking like that I substituted a lot more carbs in my diet to feel full. That wreaked havoc on my body and I gained a lot of weight. At my highest I was 225. When I started cooking more wholesome Indian food I found that it balanced carbs with veggie perfectly. I lost 45 pounds over a year and a half. The recipes are versatile and if you don’t like 🌶️ food you don’t have to include fresh chilis or chili powder.
