Just experienced false labour, anyone else?

I'm currently 35 weeks and 1 day and woke up with cramping. I thought it was Braxton hicks until the cramps didn't subside and I was getting consistent contractions! Could this be early labour I thought (as some have birthed early after getting covid 🫣😅 from what I've heard)

Didn't think false labour could be so painful! It was truly a wake up call for the real deal! I had contractions for 5 hours until it subsided after getting an IV drip and being monitored for vitals, then getting tested for a urinary infection

In the end the doc said this is all normal and it happens but to do my best to deal with the pain.

Anyone experience false labour before?

BTW women's bodies are so strong and resilient! This morning reminded me of that and we don't take enough credit for it! So go us!!!

No only Braxton Hicks for now that don't last long, I'm 34 weeks. Use the contraction timer app. It suggests when to go to the hospital

@Bhumika thanks I'll check it out!

Almost 34 weeks and I’ve had Braxton hicks a couple of times but it subsided after a short while. I had my daughter at 37 weeks so I’m on edge with everything I feel.

@Amelia thats so lucky! I was worried I was going to give birth today 😅 I'm glad I read up more on false labour though and how yo better cope with it in future

I’m happy you didn’t! That’s so scary. I never had any false labour or anything with my first so it’s a lot of new things I’m feeling that’s making me worried I might be going into labour 😅

@Amelia yes especially since every pregnancy is different

I'm just trying to be more informed of what to do in case it happens again since it was such a surprise! I'm also glad I didn't go into true labour after

which app is the best to use?

a doula who I found online, who gave birth herself last October suggested the contractions app with a green fetus logo.

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
