Bottle for comfort

So my son is almost 11 months and was doing a breakfast lunch and dinner bottle. Now he’s back to eating every 3-4 hours and even wants a bottle sometimes to go to sleep. His pediatrician said that I could give him some almond milk. But i’m not sure when to give it to him because I know he still needs the nutrients from his formula bottle. Should I just give it to him whenever it’s not his regular time for a bottle just so he has it? He also wakes up at night (2-3 times) for a bottle. He mainly likes a bottle for comfort whenever he’s not actually hungry

she suggested it because I had asked about cows milk ( I know he can’t have any until he’s a year) but he doesn’t sleep through the night and i asked if i could do half cows milk and half formula. she said i could give him 3 meals plus snacks and give him almond milk if id like. I’m just wondering if I could give it (almond milk) to him whenever he wants a comfort bottle and isn’t actually hungry. or if i still have to give him formula since he still needs those nutrients

My son is doing the same. Wanting solids less and milk more. He’s also wanting it for comfort a lot of the time.

Our girl still eats bottles every 3 hours along with regular food. Is it possible that he is hungry at night because he’s not getting enough nutrition during the day?

If he’s not actually hungry at night, do you use pacifiers? Our girl will wake only for a minute to find her pacifier at night and then goes right back to sleep.

that’s the thing he eats dinner and gets a bottle before bed so i’m pretty sure he just wants a bottle for comfort. he also doesn’t eat full bottles when he wakes up in the middle of the night either. and formula is too expensive to waste 😭 he’ll take about 2oz at night when he usually gets 6-8oz

How much formula is he drinking throughout the whole day? (Not including waking at night)

he drinks about 7 oz at 8am, 11:30am, 5pm & 8pm. plus 3 meals and a snack. so about 28oz

My almost 11 month old also wakes up 2-3 times a night. Usually once because he’s hungry and drinks most of a bottle, then just for comfort. He uses the bottle as a pacifier when he hasn’t had one since 5-6 months. He started falling asleep for naps by himself so the first time he self soothed I took it away. He’s good for naps but the middle of the night he cries. He also might eat 1 meal a day, with a couple snacks. He’s seen a speech therapist and she said as long as there’s progress then it’s nothing to worry about. He might be on formula for longer than 1 year for nutrients 😅

Oh and he has 4 top teeth, the 4 bottom middle ones and 1 molar on each side, so the dentist said she was glad he didn’t have a pacifier anymore. So I won’t give that back after so long and 10 teeth.

Will he take 8oz bottles? That might compensate for the night time feeds and keep him asleep

Baby clothes

Just out of curiosity, why do parents love zipper onesies?

Don’t get me wrong, I tried zipper ones it’s easy to zip in and out when putting it on the first time and taking it out, but I find it difficult when changing diapers especially when baby is asleep.

I prefer those kimono style buttons where it’s easy to button or too down button with crotch snaps.

Is everyone thinking the same or different? Lol

At this point I’m not enjoying motherhood

My 22 month old is horrendous at the moment🫣 biting, hitting, pushing, pulling and shoving not only adults but children he also wants what other children have and will just snatch it away from them.

We repeat ‘nice hands’ ‘be gentle’ ‘let’s share’ etc

But how do I make him understand what he’s doing isn’t very nice? At the end of the day I feel like I’ve just been saying his name all day and nothing else.

What can I do?

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?
