Feel sad about baby weight

I’ve had on and off struggles with my daughters weight so I can completely understand. I think it really depends on the baby and sometimes they just struggle to gain weight. Your not starving her you are feeding her when she needs it and to the extent she needs it there is not much else you can do. Don’t feel bad mama you’re doing great!

So, like Nikki said, every baby is different. So you do whatever you feel is right before your baby. But I was starving my baby. Not on purpose, but she loves sleeping. So I had to wake her up every 3 hours to eat. I started that from the very beginning. But even then she would fall asleep while breastfeeding and I didn’t do what was advices about pumping the milk out then feeding it to her. So I messed up how much I was able to produce. Also she was not gaining weight. She was born at 3.035 kg I think. I’m from the U.S. she was born 6lbs 11 oz. I tried to convert it the best I could. Then at her 1 month appointment she was 6 lbs 8 oz. So 2.95 kg She was definetely suppose to be 6lbs 11 oz by then. So 3.035 kg. My pediatrician was nice and told me I could still breast feed, but supplement with formula. However I just chose to stop breast feeding. When I switched to formula, at her 2 month appointment she was 12 pounds, so 5.44 kg at her 2 month appointment after the switch.

We were told that by 10 days old your baby will be roughly back to their birth weight as over the few few days they lose all the additional fluids they were born with to protect them during the process. So if that’s true, your daughter is doing exactly what they would expect! Don’t beat yourself up on things, as long as she’s healthy and happy you’re being the best for her ❤️

If her diaper is wet by the two hr mark after changing her she’s getting enough milk! My son’s weight fluctuated but now he’s 3 months and 14lbs!🥰
