HELP!!! What did I do if my daughter just will not drink anything other than fruit shoots and formula….

My daughters 14 months old, she will not I mean point blank refuses to drink cows milk she spits it straight out. She will do the same with water. She drinks juice but don’t often give her because I don’t want her teeth rotting.. she has yogurt and thinks with calcium in but she will scream and scream to the point of throwing up if I don’t let her have a bottle, I’m fine with her having a bottle it’s just I don’t want her drinking formula anymore. I’ve tried warming the milk up to try make it like she’s having formula but she will not have any of it.. HELP!!!

My LO doesn’t drink cows milk either. He does have water though. I just make sure he has dairy in his meals and he’s fine. Keep offering milk but he just spits it out x

Have you tried to water down his formula with the cows milk so like half and half? Worth a try if you haven't already

Nothing wrong with formula, they only say to get off it cause the food they eat covers the vitamins in formula. With water, I would only offer water personally, or VERY watered down juice. Even the sugar free stuff is bad xx

Try other plant based milks suitable for small people my sister's LO likes oat milk

Agree with Kiera. No need for milk if LO gets enough protein and calcium in diet. Does LO drink water? Formula is not bad, it just becomes a bit unnecessary because LO gets vitamins from solid food now.

You could try adding a bit more water each time to her fruit shoot until eventually its just water. Have you tried different bottles/cups for her to drink from? My little boy hardly drank water until we found a bottle he really liked, now he drains 2-3 bottles a day For milk, have you tried different milk? My little boy can't have cows milk anyway so he drinks soya (next best for nutrition) and there's oat, almond etc milk aswell. Cows milk can be really heavy and uncomfortable on the gut still at this age x

You have to wean your child slowly. Do a majority formula mixed with normal milk and gradually change the percentage over a period of time. It's a pain but eventually things will change

Mine won’t take cows milk either. The HV said it’s not a problem as it doesn’t contain the right vitamins and minerals anyway, it’s more to get away from the sugar in formula they don’t need anymore as that and other nutrients are coming from food. I’d personally stop with the fruit shoots unless you are really rigorous with tooth brushing and giving lots of water too to help their teeth.

Thanks guys I will try your suggestions. I genuinely thought she was struggling with it but seeing others don’t take to it either makes me feel a lot better. Thankyou for the advice ♥️
