Combination feeding

Those who are combo feeding do you have a set schedule for what time you give formula each day or is it just when they’re fussy and still hungry. I’m trying to mainly breastfeed but sometimes my little one is still hungry and screaming so we have to top her up with some formula (Kendamil). I’ve wondered whether instead of doing this as and when should we do it at the same time each day, say one bottle before bed. She’s 11 days old and cluster feeding, very fussy between about 3am-10am won’t settle at all. Any advice would be appreciated.

I do one bottle before bed on advice from midwife as she said it would help with sleep.

Have you got a pump? I found my baby who is breastfed wasn’t settling between 00:00-0500 and constantly wanting to feed. I’ve found that by expressing a bottle late evening in-between feeds and giving it at around 00:00-1:00 she sleeps for around 4 hours which has helped me massively and I’ve now stopped topping up with formula for 2 weeks. Obviously whatever works for you but just thought I’d share what’s helped me as I really wanted to cut the formula out and it’s been amazing having a solid 4 hours sleep😴 she still has the odd night where she will still want to feed constantly but its definitely more manageable and periods of cluster feeding are to be expected xxx

This was the main issue I talked to the pediatrician about today at my sons appointment. Since we got home from the hospital (1/3) he would not latch at night from about 10pm until like 9am and would be very fussy. When I would breast feed during the day our sessions would be about 30-45 mins every 4 hours but the doc said just because they’re long sessions doesn’t mean he’s getting all the ounces he needs. The doctor recommended 2oz either ready to feed formula or pumped milk every 3 hours. So that’s what we’ve been doing and after doing that for the evening I’ll offer the breast first for 10 mins at feedings if he latches great if not can give a bottle. Since he’s probably just hungry and putting in the extra effort for breastfeeding is hard. I hope this helps mama.

@Yolly following! What time is before bed and does your LO sleep through the night without waking for another feed? My baby is 3 weeks old and we give bottle on which is usually every 3 hours! Would love to get her to sleep through longer over night.

My daughter is a week old and we’ve started giving 2 bottles a day 1 in the afternoon and 1 before bed, she cluster feeds pretty much all day between 2pm-10pm but last two nights since giving the dream feed bottle she’s sleeping until around 3am quick 10 minute feed and back down until 7 xx

I normally give it her at 10, unfortunately she doesn't sleep through the night, she is normally up once at about 3.

Iv just started combo feeding my 5 week old and noticed a massive change in his sleep. I give 2 bottles before bed and then one in the afternoon and breastfeed the rest of the time x

I stared combi feeding as my breast milk just wasn’t enough for night feeds. My 2 week old cluster breast feeds during the day and we’ve now started topping her up with expressed milk or formula for night feeds. She’ll sleep 3-4 hours solid we’re finding after a bottle feed…which makes all the difference!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7
