What’s the process to get a sick note? Is it easy?
I am experiencing a lot of nausea but not too the point of HG and was wondering if I needed some time off work, could I call the doctors and request a sick note. What would they write on there as the reason? My work is being a bit funny with me as I only joined a few months so I don’t want to call up sick everyday and rather get a sick note
But don’t know the process and how quickly i can get ir

If you've been off for more than 7 days, call your GP,, get an appointment and describe the symptoms. You should get a sick note in a matter of hours and they don't have to specify the reasons you're off, they can write smth like "general illness", not necessarily that you're pregnant.
Consider it might take a couple of days to get an appointment, but also the sick note can be dated retroactively.
Once you have the sick note, send it to your manager/HR. No need to explain the reasons, but it's always good to keep a good relationship with them - you eventually want to go back to work!
Hope this helps

I got a sick not just before Christmas, I went to my gp they asked me if my work knew about my pregnancy just so he knew what to write on the sick not you then get a link sent to your mobile with the document that I sent to my employer

I just email my gP practise and I get it through texts and sent it to my manager they have me two weeks off sick with it but can ask for longer if need be x

If your employer already knows you’re pregnant it would also be worth while just saying you’re unable to attend due to morning sickness. Pregnancy related sicknesses can’t be looked at the same as other sicknesses and SHOULDN’T be used against you. I know all companies act differently the same with direct managers so could just request a sick note. Whatever is best for you! Personally I was borderline HG vomiting up to 7 times a day and they provided me different types of Nausea medication. It didn’t stop completely but I did see a big improvement the majority of days with it 😊 Hope it passed for you soon!x
