I just want to say I do love my husband. He's a great father and husband. But OMG this man is no help sometimes. I cleaned out the whole room that will be our daughters room even though my ob told me not to carry anything over 30 pounds. Then I told him to get someone to help move the mattress and box spring over 2 weeks ago. He said he would have his brother in law help on Christmas eve. That didn't happen. So yesterday im finishing that room and I started pushing the mattress and he gets mad saying I can't do that. So it's STILL sitting in that room. He was getting mad at me for moving totes and other furniture but yet he didn't take them from me to move them himself. Like if you don't do it I'm going to. I've been nesting like crazy and he doesn't seem to understand and it's really irritating. I wanted to put primer on the walls while he was at work today but I can't with the mattress and box spring in there. Anyone else's man think we still have so much time and are have to nag them about everything?

I think the biggest thing is to just communicate with him when you're wanting to work on the nursery and say you absolutely need his help. I hope these dads do realize that we are all getting close to our April delivery dates. But a man's brain is wired differently from ours so your worries in this moment might be completely different from what he's worried about. Now I'm not saying that to justify him not helping you because he absolutely should step up and help but I guess what I am saying is that he might just need to be told what you need and might need that extra encouragement to get moving. I know my husband needs this from time to time, and he's literally like a golden retriever husband 😂

Yes, I agree with ! Sometimes is just a matter of communicating how it makes you feel. Just an example (not really related to yours) but I have always been a very organised person and I like things to be done within a certain timeframe. I started buying things for my son as soon I was 16w pregnant, because I knew I wouldn’t be able to hold my job until the end of pregnancy and I didn’t want to end up depending on him to buy baby things. In his point of view, we should’ve waited until the 3rd trimester to buy everything, which is insane🙈. My pregnancy is high risk, so imagine (worst case cenario) the baby is born two months before the due date. We wouldn’t have anything ready and we don’t have family nearby to help us. It was a matter of sitting down with him and explaining that sometimes his timeframe to do things is not the same as mine and leaving things for the last minute is never a good idea.

Yes in the same boat. Even the cat litter is a problem. He agreed to take that on as a responsibility and leaves it sitting. Yesterday was the second time I took it out and he felt really bad because he knows he needs to be taking care of responsibilities. Communicate but also keep doing it yourself because in my opinion that's what he's showing you. That you can do it by yourself and when you show him that he might see things differently. In the beginning of this pregnancy I had this convo as well saying if he can't uphold his end of responsibilities I will have to jump ship and take care of my self because I will not let myself and this baby be dragged down. Sometimes he needs a reminder of that.

My boyfriend was the worst during my first pregnancy when it came to setting up baby’s room. We have a 3 bedroom house and before kids we had our room, a guest bedroom, and an office. When I got pregnant he wanted to keep the guest room a guest room and put the baby in the office. Not get rid of the office, but add the baby to the office. As we slowly started to accumulate things he came around to giving the baby her own room. Now we have 2 babies, each with her own room, and no guest bedroom and no office 😆 Our strong urge to nest is just not something they experience, unfortunately.
