Hi all, question around sterilising. I've heard items only stay sterilised for 24 hours, is this true? Ie: if you wanted to take a breast pump, pacifier, bottle to the hospital for delivery... When would you sterilise them?

Personally I wouldn't take those items in with me. They usually have breast pumps you can borrow. If you are wanting to formula feed then I'd take in the ready made bottles that come with teats. You don't know how long you'll be in labour so you might go over that 24hr period.

My steriliser says 24 hours but my midwife said she personally would redo any bottles after about 4 hours š As above though you almost certainly wont need those things for hospital āŗļø

I plan on taking a dummy but donāt expecting to use it, it will just be there as a last resort.
In terms of making sure itās sterilised, I have one of those portable sterilising balls for dummies ( I canāt remember the proper name š) . It was so handy with my first so was top of my list this time round
