Sleeping through the night

My LO is 17 weeks, he only wakes up once in the night. He sleeps in his cot, the first half of the night he sleeps fine, he wakes up at some point in the night for a nappy change and bottle. For the second half of the night it’s hard to get him to sleep in his cot. Sleeps on me or with me fine till the morning. But if he’s in his cot, he’s constantly moving about, spitting out his dummy, just unsettled. Is there anything I can do to help him sleep in his cot for the second half of the night?
I’ve tried picking him back up and settling him again but it’s just a vicious cycle. I’ve tried white noise which normally helps in the first half of the night of he wakes up but doesn’t work for the second half. Would prefer him to not get used to sleeping in bed with me. Any advice or tips would be great!

Maybe try to avoid changing his nappy if you can? Try bigger nappies/baby dry so that they last longer? I find with my LO she will wake up when I change her nappy compared to if I just take her out the cot to feed then put straight back!

Is he asleep when he’s moving about? My little girl sleeps quietly for the first part of the night (usually) but then is the biggest fidget ever the other part. Or some nights she’ll sleep soundly from 8-1130 then 1130 onwards it’s dummy date. In/out. Constant tapping on chest to let her know I’m still there. Ear plugs. White noise. Drown it out. Anyway, it’s active sleep, she’s asleep, eyes closed etc she’s just a fidget. Have you tried trying to block it out yourself and letting him fidget and move? Or is he actually awake eyes open etc? I think maybe perserver and have a few rough nights where you don’t allow him to sleep in bed with you? Or wait till he’s in a deep sleep with you and transfer him back into his cot? I’ve done that a few times with my LO. Xx

I think he’s in a light sleep. Because he spits his dummy out, then fidgets around until its back in his mouth. Then he rubs his face, keeps his arms up then as he’s falling back to sleep (he sleeps with arms next to his head) his reflex kicks in which wakes him up. Then constantly moves him around. He has his eyes closed but I think if I left him long enough he would fully wake up. Every time he moves or makes a sound I instantly wake up look over at him. I’ve tried leaving him before and it went on for 2 hours to the point where he wanted a bottle. He slept on me, went back to the cot then it happened again. Went on for 3 hours, I’m not sure what it is if I’m honest. I’m a ftm so still trying to figure things out xx

this sounds exactly like my little girl. It’s exhausting. She did it lastnight from 130onwards. She ended up asleep with me at 5. She rubs her eyes , ends up in the middle of the cot lying sideways lol ends up with her face right next to the cot and like you it always wakes me up. I was lead to believe it was active sleep so I do try and block it out but I do end up putting her dummy in. Hopefully it’s one of those stages that passes as they learn to link their sleep cycles better maybe? You’re not alone don’t worry. I sometimes ask my partner to sleep next to her and I’ll sleep on his side, could you do this? Xx

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.
