Willow go, medela freestyle, or zomee fit or z2, Best hospital grade wearable hands free pump?

Does anyone know what the biggest amount of ounces (oz), yet efficient, the wearable hands free breast pump comes? Best brand…I guess the momcosy doesn’t last. Does anyone know anything about the willow go or Zommee z2? Zomee z2 may leak but the fit may use an app like willow and it’s cheaper. Willow go is I guess cord free so really it’s quality an I haven’t heard anything bad about it except only one cup to empty into? Altho the 3.0 is easy to clean but only offers 8 total in milk so might as well do zomee fit if you’re a big producer (isn’t this the goal?)

I haven’t heard anything about lansinoh, but I use the elvie and it’s been the only pump I use and it’s still going strong after 7 months! I got it from my sister who used it for a few months before I did as well and it hasn’t had any issues. It only holds 5 ounces, but I just empty it real quick and pop it back on to keep pumping when it gets full.

I have the Stride and I just wish it wasn’t so easy to leak. I had to replace a couple tubes because milk got in them.

Avatar

dang that’s so annoying. It must be a strong suction. I hate that it’s only 5 oz is that inconvenient to have to stop what you’re doing to go empty? Not that 2 oz is much more…

I use the Zomee Z2 with the hands free silicone cups, they hold 8oz each cup, the suction on this pump is better than Spectra in my opinion if that helps as a reference for you

Avatar

it’s an OK suction. Not as strong as my Spectra. Battery life is pretty good. Idk if I was supposed to but I’ve gotten 6oz out of them a few times but those were not the times I got milk in the tubes. I got milk in the tubes by bending too far down. I actually heard great things about the Willow GO. I just ordered then Willow 3.0 to see how leak proof it is.

better things than the lanisoh?

the zomee is an upgrade option for me but it doesn’t hold 8 oz each, that’s awesome! Is that thru ur insurance?

Avatar

Nice I read others were also doing that 👏👏👏 are you getting them thru your insurance? Or ur first one? I would consider to get 2 since my insurance will pay for one but not sure if id want to if i end up upgrading…which i can upgrade to a willow but why did you decide on that one?

Avatar

so I got a spectra with insurance and got the Elvie stride via FB market - it was brand new out the box for $75. Could not pass that lol. here’s my recommendation…get you a spectra 1. They’re portable and rechargeable. The suction on it is amazing and it’s not loud at all. If you have an FSA account, I’d use that for your portable. I ordered the Willow because while I also wanted the OG Elvie, I’d really like to not leak. The Willow allows you to pump directly into a bag while was a huge selling point for me. I feel like it easier to keep a bag cold while on the go than a bottle. With The Elvie you have to worry about transferring milking and what not. I did do some research and I read that the suction on the willow is different and I feel like it would work for me because I like having the continuous suction vs the traditional from pump. But I don’t get the willow until Tuesday. Can let you know how it goes once I get it lol.

oh that is great! And good for you, it doesn’t hurt to have options! Well I think I must have given my 2 spectra’s away…so as tempted as I am to get another for free, I’m soooo curious to try a hands free one even if I have to upgrade. The willow does sound amazing! Maybe I’ll wait on your review if it…since it does cost a pretty penny. I’m pretty sure I don’t have an fsa acct since I’m with a private insurance…can I dm you? Do you know when you’ll recieve the willow? My baby’s due in 3 weeks…😕

maybe you have the double wearable with the app? How is the app? Is this one hospital grade?

I bought the hands free silicone cups separately, they have two kinds I got the ones that hold 8oz, the zomee z2 as it comes through insurance just had the regular collection bottles that 8 believe hold 5oz

hey there! Sure dm me! I just tried my willow and I liked it but I think I need to play with it a little more but it overall was a good experience. Going to give it a week.

I thought my original post was so confusing haha so I tried to make it make more sense best hands free pump was my quest for understanding

Avatar

nice I’m so happy for you! Nice that you got it with ur insurance! Mine was more expensive thru mine so I opted out of it. Maybe in the future I’ll get one which covers it cuz the emptying into a bag is so nice!

Baby clothes

Just out of curiosity, why do parents love zipper onesies?

Don’t get me wrong, I tried zipper ones it’s easy to zip in and out when putting it on the first time and taking it out, but I find it difficult when changing diapers especially when baby is asleep.

I prefer those kimono style buttons where it’s easy to button or too down button with crotch snaps.

Is everyone thinking the same or different? Lol

AITA

In the uk there is an outbreak of meningitis, in a specific area mainly. My BD has family from that area and decided to go and meet up with them, I said if he does then he cannot have contact with the kids for 7-10 days after incase he picks anything up. Am I being over dramatic? I reallyyy don’t want my young kids getting anything serious

This might rattle some people

Ok, this might get a bit long, and a bit bumpy, so get comfy and buckle up.

So about a week or 2 ago, there was a post on here regarding sleepovers. Not letting their child go to them as you can't trust who'll be at the house etc.

Now, given recent incidents in nurseries and schools, plus my own experience back in the 90s, I am more concerned about sending my child to nursery and later school than I am to a friend's house for a sleep over.

The other day a man was jailed for abusing children at the nursery he worked at. A woman has been arrested for sleeping with an underage boy and then getting pregnant by a different underage boy while on bail for the first offence.

Young girls and boys get sexually harassed and bullied when at school, not all of them. But more than you think. And not just by other kids, but by adults who we as parents are trusting to look after our kids.

A sleepover, is a more controlled environment, with only a handful of people coming into contact with your child. A school, a club etc there can be 100s of people coming into contact with your child.

I was targeted at 7 years old by the owner of a prominent private school. Thankfully, I wasn't SA'd. In year 5 of primary school, I started to develop early, I was harassed by the boys and teachers made remarks about how my uniform didn't fit right, always "adjusting it" around my chest and legs.

Years 7-9 of secondary school were hell. But it was all under the guise of "we're just messing around". A teacher twanging my exposed bra strap (none uniform day) is not "messing around".

Boys pinning me down trying to rip open my shirt to see my breasts.

I fear for my daughter. I hope she takes after my father's family, flat chested.

We need to educate all our children, what is acceptable behaviour. And to come to us, as their parents should ANYTHING happen.

At this point I’m not enjoying motherhood

My 22 month old is horrendous at the moment🫣 biting, hitting, pushing, pulling and shoving not only adults but children he also wants what other children have and will just snatch it away from them.

We repeat ‘nice hands’ ‘be gentle’ ‘let’s share’ etc

But how do I make him understand what he’s doing isn’t very nice? At the end of the day I feel like I’ve just been saying his name all day and nothing else.

What can I do?

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.
