My daughter is going to be 2 next month and she seems to be starting her 2 year sleep regression. The last 2 nights she’s been waking up around 11:30pm-12 am and is up for hours. She wakes up screaming and then seems wide awake. The first night she didn’t take her nap and the second day she did. The last few weeks she also screams hysterically when I put her to bed. The only thing she wants is to be held in the rocking chair but she’s a very light sleeper so if I try to rock her and then lay her down she wakes right up. I’ve started using a nightlight to see if maybe she’s becoming afraid of the dark, I tried sitting In her room with her, and even seeing if she will just sleep in our bed but nothing is working. She just screams hysterically before bed and now is waking up in the middle of the night. Its so hard not knowing how to help her but I also have to sleep. I overslept and was 2 hours late starting work because I was so tired from the last two nights so any suggestions would be amazing!!

could be her second set of molars coming too

Our oldest daughter will be two in March. She's decided to not take naps at home most of the time. She'll take them at daycare though...
We've started a routine at night to see if that helps. It's been working so far but things can change!
We've always had a night light with ocean sound on. She's recently is wanting her stuffed animals with her and in the crib. Seems to make her more comfortable too.
Hope this helps a little!! 🤞

@aluna agree with you on that too. They can come in at anytime.
Numbing gel work or ice/teething toys?

I didn’t even think about the molars! Thank you!
we had a lot of family here recently and I think our routine got thrown off a bit because of that so I’m definitely trying to get back to giving her more time to wind down at night. Appreciate the tips!!!

@Alexandra of course!
With the holidays our routines were totally messed up for 2 weeks and now again this week but oh well!

my daughters are coming in and i swear she’s like a different person some days 😩

Not sure if it will help you but we stand by the closed door and tell our (almost two year old) daughter we are still there if she starts crying. It calms her down.
