Hospital hell

I think this is a pretty standard experience unfortunately but I agree it was hellish!

I am on maternity ward now they keep to check any sign of blood clots. And I can’t sleep either. The heating is insane I would sleep on floor than bed . I hope I gona be discharged on the morning 🙈🙈🙈 fair enough is very quiet on my ward .
I seen my ward have single room maybe worth asking about that ?

I feel we are the least unfortunate ones and it’s sad that we’ve had to experience such especially after an operation I had my c-section and the ward as hell as well they never helped me with the baby (being a 1st time mum) not knowing how to breastfeed nothing they refused to hold my baby while I went to the ladies the nurses replied that’s not my job I could hardly walk I legit broke down crying.

They really need to put medical stuff that actually give shit and take the oath they take seriously. I pray you get discharged so u can enjoy your little one and rest. Goodluck hun x

I don't know why the ward is so hot! I wonder if it's hormones and the drugs/operation that make everybody feel hot or if they have actually cranked the heating up. They do also keep coming in to do your observations, up your meds and encouraging you to feed the baby. I was lucky that I had such lovely midwives helping me through the night with my baby, as I was in a lot of pain abd could barely move. The good news is that you should get discharged at some point tomorrow unless there is anything wrong with you or the baby. Your own bed will have never felt so good!! x

Omg I feel this, and why is there always that one person who is on a loud phone call every 5 minutes throughout the night.

When I had my son, the ward was hot, recovery was hot as well. But chatting to midwife they said it's always like that all year round. It's down to the babies not being able to control their own temperature so it's to keep the babies warm while they're in there. The first night, the ward I got moved to was quite. More quite than recovery as I had someone who would chat loudly and then snore really loudly. When one got discharged, this woman who replaced her, got annoyed about the girl next to me and would talk really loudly about her

Can you ask to go into a private room? I was on the main ward after my sons c section and asked if it would be possible and was lucky enough to get my own room when one became available. Not guaranteed but worth asking if you’re not getting any sleep xx

I was in hospital for 6 days in total. 3 days in the recovery unit following my emergency c section which was non stop and they kept telling me to sleep 🙄 then a night on the maternity ward in a room with 2 babies with jaundice under the lamps and I can’t even explain how hot it was in there. I was very close to discharging myself

@Liya I had the exact same experience at the norfolk and norwich. Needed to wee and they said leave him behind in the ward... with curtains open to people could see him. The most unsafe practice I've ever heard 😮

I was so exhausted that I was seeing things and felt like I could hear between dimensions 🙈 Discharged myself before 48 hours there and it took about a week to get a handle on that level of exhaustion. Sending you strength, it will get better.
