Currently in hospital waiting to be induced for reduced movement and possibly pre eclampsia but I’m absolutely terrified, iv heard sooo many horror stories I was all for doing things as natural as possible but the midwife has already advised me go for an epidural if I get put on the drip.. I’m soo scared, I’m scared for the recovery also, there’s a lady in the bed next to me who’s had her baby and she keeps crying because she’s in pain and her baby is cluster feeding and she’s had no sleep since giving birth yesterday.. I feel terrible for her and it’s just making my anxiety worse

You’ve got this! I gave birth 3 days ago and I have a bit of muscle ache and it’s a bit tender down below, but I’m just taking paracetamol regularly and keeping moving. At no point has it made me cry! Your birth will be your own and just because other people experience one thing doesn’t mean you will! Sending you lots of calming thoughts, you’ll be a birthing goddess 💪🌟

Awh! I was induced with my first due to preeclampsia and whilst it wasn’t the quickest experience I felt like it was the right option for me, along with an epidural. So much so that I’m pleased I’ll be induced with my second…remember your hormones are heightened and your experience will be completely different to someone else’s! You’ve got this!! 💖

Put all those horror stories out your head and just take each step as it comes. You will surprise yourself how you will cope so try your best to not let other stories make you doubt yourself. Think about how your body is going to deliver your baby into your arms soon, keep that as a mental image through every step 🥰
And yes, my friends all gave me that advice about the epidural. It kind of makes sense to be honest. The drip will intensify everything so you can be confident knowing that if you request the epidural same time you will have some additional pain relief at the tip of your fingers should you need it. That will make you feel in control of your situation and less panicked and you don’t have to use it a lot if you don’t need to.
I’ll be doing the same next week.

I just went through 2.5 days of induced Labour for the same. Wasn’t the easiest ride, had epidural, had to be cut and forceps but baby is perfect and honestly a day and half later the pain is already manageable and I’m just in a bubble of happiness with my little girl. I swore my pregnancy and Labour was bad that is never do it again and within 24 hours I’d do it over and over to get what I have now. Take your time and let your body do its work and good luck with everything x

You have got this. All worries leave when you are in active labour. I was on the highest amount of the drip with my first son, I didn't take any pain relief until they took me to theatre for emergency section. I don't think just because you having the drip means you should take the epidural. Keep your options open. Good luck x

If you don't want the induction you don't have to have one, you can get a section instead

You got this mama I feel the same I’ve got my induction today we got this x

My induction was totally positive! My advice is, if youre going for it you need to really surrender and go for it, otherwise you will freeze up. I used my hypnobirthing techniques and breathing and the mantras ‘every step brings me closer to my baby’ and I was somehow able to stay nice and calm throughout. Knowing baby will be there soon and you wont have to sit at home waiting and wondering, can be very affirming. Induction ward can be a nice experience, I had plenty of walks with my husband, food and baths! x

I was induced on the 27th of December and it was pretty smooth. I have my own problems anyways but the midwives are very supportive. I’m 12 days pp and I feel so much better. The pain doesn’t last forever. I had an epidural, and I would have one again. It was the best decision I made x

You've got this! If you don't want the epidural you don't have too! I didn't I did fentanal instead it worked great for me! The pain stopped after birth for me but everyone is different. I was also induced I had the balloons those were not comfy but not the worst things in the world. Just remember your body is putting in a long days of work. You got this

I was induced with my boy almost 3 week's ago and had an epidural before the hormone drip as i was advised also but as of today it's still a bit tender where i had stitches from my episiotomy but other then that it all went smoothly. I took paracetamol and ibuprofen in alternate's every two hours for the first 5 days but you got this xx
Thankyou ladies you’ve all defo helped ease some of my worries, so I was meant to be getting induced tomorrow but they’ve done it today now instead as I have pre eclampsia 😞 now I’m a paranoid mess convinced something is going to go wrong, I got the pessary inserted at 9:45 they told me my cervix is tilted so it was very painful getting put in.. I was only 1 cm dilated so they said they will check me again 10 tonight but I’m an anxious mess now ans honestly after this morning getting that put in I don’t want anyone touching me I’m scared I’m going to go through all this to end up in an emergency section anyway so I’m half tempted to tell them if this round doesn’t work that that’s my next route as I do not want another pessary put in and I’m worried now the longer they leave me the worse my symptoms are getting my hands and my face have gone soo puffy I look terrible I’m soo scared
