When are you letting family visit newborn?

I’m talking just immediate family - parents & siblings. I know mine are all really keen to come visit as soon as she’s out but wondering whether there’s a common length of time people just enjoy their new little bubble? My husbands family are very local, so I feel like they’re just gonna pop round if I don’t set clear boundaries up front

I think do what you’re comfortable with on the day. I thought I was going to be a lot more on edge and reluctant to have people round but have had all immediate family on both sides visit in the last 48 hours and actually been really lovely to see how loved my little girl is and how happy people are that she’s here

I've said to my parents. We will see how the labour goes 1st. They are only local. My inlaws live away so they will need to stay so would like to get settled at home before they come and stay. Probably a couple of weeks for them. My brother and GF after my parents have met baby.

I think it all depends on how you feel 🥰 there’s no set time.

My parents will come from abroad and visit a couple of weeks after the birth but that’s because my husband and them don’t speak the same language and I felt it would be too much pressure on me to assist and entertain from the get go. So got them tickets a little later ☺️

The family and close friends that we have here might be able to come earlier too. Knowing myself, I’ll want to share my happiness with those around quick enough 😁

I’m the same. My partners mum lives super close and is very respectful of space, my mum is a tad further and wants to be there the second we are home…. But I want to do what’s right by my partner and his 2 current kids. So we decided the first to meet the e baby are the 2 older siblings who we will need to grab from their mums.

To keep my mum at bay I’ve said I want to see how I feel but be rest assured both mums are top on the priority list.
I’ve said this and she’s now got 2-3 days max in her head. Which I’m happy with.

I also have a very close group of girl friends who want to be there day dot. Again, respecting my partner who wants to”our little bubble” for a while… I’ve told my friends that as he needs to be back after 1-2 weeks I’d love them to visit once he’s not here as I’d love the support/ help. So we can have lots of video calls before but they are not excited to turn up and help clean the house/ bring food/ be great help. 🤗

My parents and sibling are local, and if all goes ok, then I’d like them over once we are home. My brother did the same when he had his last year. We just ensured we never outstayed our welcome and offered help as well as having a cuddle with the new addition. I suspect they’ll all do the same with us!
I guess it’s just personal preference! ☺️

Both mine and my husband parents live 10/15 minutes away, as well as my 2 siblings and my husband sibling.

We’ve not said anything about when we will be ready. My husband is taking 4 weeks off work, this will be our second baby so our priority is going to make sure to not disrupt our firsts routine too much.
Plus I don’t want to tell anyone they can come over as soon as we’re back but then actually feel different when I’m the other side of having baby and worry I’ve disappointed anyone.
We’ve told everyone that we will
keep them updated and will play it by ear and let them know when we’re ready, which could be asap or we may want to take a week to settle in being a family of four. I guess the advantage for us is that everyone lives close by so no one has to make travel plans ☺️

Having no idea how i’ll feel, I’m just estimating 2 weeks but if i feel OK beforehand then i’ll open it up sooner. I imagine the first couple days (at least) being overwhelming meeting bub and the immediate aftermath of labour, and then milk comes in and the largest hormone drop we can ever experience so i want to focus on bonding, breast feeding and be free to sulk/complain or whatever i need to do to with my partner to ride the hormone wave.. perhaps that will actually be wanting one or two visitors / maybe not (definitely not all).. just waiting to see 🤷‍♀️

Grandparents to b at the house (with my first born) for when we come home from hospital. This was always the way in my family. And then our brothers and sisters with their kids anytime after that, usually the next day etc.
Then further out family/ friends a week or so later.

We live next door to his family this time. And my family live 15 mins away so I'd say parents will be in and out every day / every other day anyways.

My brother in law still lives with us, so I feel like I'm stuck tbh

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7
