Everyone is posting about cramps, but how bad should they be before we’re concerned? I have them so bad that when I’m either standing straight or laying flat on my back, it is almost unbearable, and a sensation that I’ve never felt before. No bleeding but this is so intense

I would call to get it checked out. Think they say period cramps is normal but if you’re doubled over you need medical attention. Hope everything is ok❣️
thank you for replying! who would I call as I’m not yet booked with midwife etc. Would I call the hospitals maternity ward, my GP or 111? x

Personally I would call the EPU maternity block first to see what they say then I would call 111 then GP last as they take the longest to get back to you xxx

I am not sure as I am quite early in my first pregnancy but those are the steps I would take - just call every resource available and see what advice each of them give x

Hi! First off I hope you’re okay! I had something similar, they were on and off for about a week only on one side so I rang the EPU and they fobbed me off to my GP, I’ve ended up booking an early scan for this weekend to be safe! Please let us know how you get on!

Hi I hope you are ok. If the cramps are painful I would either phone your EPU or your GP and try and get seen xx mild cramps are ok but if they’re stopping you going about your day then it might mean something is going on. Good luck x

I’m 5 weeks and have had cramps on and off every day for the last week pretty much, I’ve spoken to two different GPs who have both said it’s nothing to worry about unless it’s ‘worse than period pain’, I’ve always had bad period pains so I’ve questioned myself loads but I think if you’re able to carry on with day to day things then it sounds normal, always worth getting a professional opinion though 😊
saw gp this afternoon, ended up a waste of time, told me that if it gets worse to go to a&e but it’s unlikely they’ll see me as I’m not 7 weeks yet
saw the gp but he massively fobbed me off, said that everyone experiences cramps and that I must just feel it more than other people, and that if it gets worse to go to a&e but they probably won’t see me as I’m not 7 weeks yet

Urgh I hate that for you! I don’t understand how we’re told if it’s really painful and affecting our day to day we need to be seen but as soon as we try they pass it off as nothing!
I’m hoping it starts to die down a bit, I have my early scan booked for the 20th! fingers crossed everything looks good!

If I was you I would go to a&e, so they can refer you to the EPU for proper assessment 😔 I hate the way everyone just gets fobbed off because they aren’t ‘enough weeks’ doesn’t mean you aren’t struggling, does it!! I hope it gets better for you xxx
