14 week old not napping for long enough 🄓

I can’t for the life of me get my 14 week old to stay asleep for long enough during her daytime naps.

Of course this means that she’s grouchy and eventually it ends up with her being very upset in the evenings.

I also find it so tricky to get her down for naps as she’s so overtired!!

Some days she isn’t even hitting 13 hours in a 24 hour period šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Any thoughts or advice?

No advice sorry but I’m in exactly the same position with my 14 week old! Trying to be led by her but she just won’t sleep some days 🫠

I don’t even think my 10 week old gets 10 hours! She has small 10/20 minute naps after feeding 2/3 times during the day and sleeps 7 hours at night 😳

My girl sleeps pretty well but only because she was sick to death of being disturbed when she was in the living room in her Moses basket🤣 (I was in the same boat, 20 mins here and there or contsct napping and I was a mumma with a dead arm)
So now she sleeps upstairs in my room in the next to me and I put a monitor in and she sleeps for an hour morning, 12.30-3 and sometimes 4.30-6 x

My 12 week old is the same... Will only do 30 mins in the cot then I have to contact nap. It really isn't ideal but I was in the same position where she gets sooo over tired in the evening....last night it took us 3.5 hours to get her to bed

We have never hit the 14hrs in 24hr aim, but I think partly because it's difficult for them to link their sleep cycles at this age. Hopefully as they get older the naps will get longer. We are putting him in his next 2 me with swaddle and white noise and lights off which has helped a little but it's still different every day length wise.

My lo never sleeps longer than 30/45mins in his cot during the day but can do hours when taken out in the pram so we always make sure to go out for a walk even if it’s just to the shop and back. He’s 14 weeks tomorrow

I’ve started trying to follow wake windows as I’ve been in the same position I found he sleeps for hours in the pram or on me but I’ve been putting him upstairs multiple times a day he only sleeps mostly 30-45 mins sometimes an hour but I didn’t want him depending on sleeping on me and the pram x

We were in the same boat two weeks ago but we (think) fixed it by having a comfort cuddly toy during nap time. Today I actually had to wake her up from her nap. Another thing that helped us was outdoor walks. Hopefully this helps but again all babies are different!

tell me more!!! Are you keeping the room a certain way? Playing music? White noise?

Avatar

do you just put him down once that nap time is here?

hey hun, she sleeps in the next to me in my room however I keep it somewhat the same as night routine…fan on, curtains drawn and dummy. At night though she has a sleeping bag but for naps nothing (mainly because she kicks it off) but I also want her to associate sleeping bag with bedtime.
We’ve been doing the same routine for bedtime also for 2 months and it really works and she sleeps through the night too!
Naps are hit and miss don’t get me wrong but she sleeps for a long period of time and we always stick to wake windows x

I find going for walks help my girl will instantly be asleep once in the pram or carrier. I’ve started to go on a 1.30 hour walk everyday with my dogs and she sleeps the whole way round. I know everyone can’t do this and all babies are different x

so after he’s woke up from a nap I know for his age he’s 14 weeks this week I have roughly 1.5-2hrs of awake time before he needs to go back down so I put him in swaddle with dummy and blackout blinds closed and past few days he’s been napping with a comforter toy I move to where he can’t see me and he might cry for a bit and I just keep going back popping dummy in and rocking next to me and eventually he goes

Thanks for your comments everyone! ā¤ļø

My girl won’t sleep in the pram šŸ™„ I do use the baby carrier a lot but lately she barely. Lasts 30 mins asleep in that!

All our naps are contact naps, I can’t even get her on the bed next to me in the day without her waking up 😩

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA šŸ™‚

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong šŸ¤”. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?
