TTC after miscarriage

I was told to wait for my first period, but when I asked the gynaecologist carrying out my surgery why that is, she said it’s for dating purposes of a subsequent pregnancy and not related to any adverse outcomes for a future pregnancy (ie. not your body not being ready for another pregnancy, not because you’re more likely to miscarry etc etc) so I didn’t wait, we tried again as soon as my bleeding stopped and I fell pregnant.

I suppose they can just date from your 12 week scan ?
Did you try & get a negative preg test so you knew or? Sorry for so many questions x

Yes, I was invited for an early scan to get a rough idea, then dated again at 12 weeks- broadly in line, they had no difficulty determining a EDD etc.
So I tested two weeks after my surgery, I was still bleeding lightly and my PT was negative so I knew if we saw a positive any time after that it would be a new pregnancy and not left over HCG.
That’s okay, ask anything you want to- I had so many questions when I had my MMC and felt like there wasn’t a whole lot of information easily accessible!

No I agree after my MMC there wasn’t a lot of information I had soo many questions now having a miscarriage it’s like a whole new load of questions.

I got pregnant 2 weeks after my miscarriage

I had a chemical at 4 weeks +5 and started trying as soon as I stopped bleeding. I was lucky enough to get pregnant again straight away! I was also told to wait a cycle but ignored that because its just for dating. You might find your cycle is a bit different this month so if you can get some ovulation tests it might be worth using them everyday. I think I ovulated much sooner than I normally would after my miscarriage.
