It can do that try not to bump it or put much pressure on it if you start get a trickle though like more than a few drops and it's fresh looking blood then go in have them fix it it's well worth the time if something is wrong

Hi, id pop down to your GP to get it checked. Probably everything ok but better to get it checked for piece of mind.

Call your midwife line I was worried about my little ones cord and a midwife did a FaceTime call with me and had look that way witch was great!

my baby’s never bled like this. he only had some discharge. mom gut is always right, if you feel something is wrong either call the pediatrician or go to the ER

Always check with a midwife or GP.

My girls bled sometimes if it got caught on clothing or was getting friction by rubbing against the nappy if the nappy had rolled back up (we roll down the front to protect it). If you’re unsure about anything the midwives will be able to help/advise. It’s obviously a bit harder now as it’s winter and cold but keeping it free helps to get some air around it x

Let it dry, do not wet it. If it smells, call midwife or gp

This happened to my baby and they said it was fine and quite normal in the healing process. Was advised to not bath so can dry out and just check no yellow fluids/pus or it doesn’t smell funny (that might mean it’s infection) xx

My baby’s bled for a few days too. I used to soak a cotton ball in salt boiled water and once it’s cooled I’d clean the belly button a couple times a day and let it dry. It healed perfect fine. Try not to worry.

The advise above is correct if you notice any yellow fluids or off smells contact your gp.

what should i do if he isn’t registered yet? i’ve just been to collect his paperwork today and im also in the middle of moving GPs

call the practice you're registering with and say you're in the process of registering but he needs an appointment (if you think he does). I'm a GP receptionist and id just put him on as a temporary patient and book him in. Can't say that's what will happen at your surgery but that's what I'd do.

I would get it looked out. Neither of my twins bled. They both dried out and dropped off by about a week

They should drop of when it’s all healed. My sons was still an open wound when his dropped off, and his bled a lot like this. We ended up in A&E with it.

Looks like a small granuloma, my daughter had hers for three months you can take them to the doctor and they can cauterize it to help it heal faster other than that keep it clean keep an eye on it.

I put betadine and gauze on my baby girl to dry it out worked a treat. But if it's sloughy take bub to GP
